Excellent choice!

As every one on here knows ( ;D ) I've got a Redhawk 5.5 in .45 colt.  The only thing I changed was to put larger Houge Grips (wood) on it.  It already had a trigger job on it so it is SWEET!  (now if I could just shoot worth a darn!)

The .44 cartridge is a FLAT shooter to 100 and is a great deer / pig gun out to that distance.

xd40 lover, sounds like you got a pretty sweet piece. I gave $450 for the same gun without scope, in the same condition as yours. YOu got a steal there! Mine had the wood grips on it, and a set of Hogue rubber grips with it. I have the rubber ones on it. Here's some pics.

Here it is concealed in my 5.11 Tactical Vest. The very inside pocket holds it just prfectly.

Here it is as I've got it now.

Walter,

How well does that speed loader work?

Seems like on my 45 the grips get in the way when I eject.  Even the Houges that a cut a little lower.

My speedloaders for it work great with mine. I haven't had any problems really. You definitely don't have as much clearance as with the factory Wood grips, but It hasn't caused me any problems.

The Houges are cut lower (look at the pix above) but it still seems real tight.  I was also wondering if the ejector half moons might be tight on mine as they don't seem to want to let go.

Ever hear of anything like that?
