Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

I thought like twyacht that the piece wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I expected another ABC treatment. But Stahl actually had a very personable pro gun guy on. I am not familiar with this Virginia activist but I give him a +10. He came across as smart, articulate and not a neanderthal. He pushed back when appropriate and did it in an engaging manner. I liked his comeback to Stahl when she asked why not have everyone go thru the background check? His answer "why not have NO BODY go thru the background check"!

Just watched the segment. Not as bad as some MSM reports, but the interview with Dianne Feinstien was the clincher.

When Leslie Stahl asked (paraphrasing): "The Pres. isn't bringing this (gun control laws), up now is due to other crises and issues,

Good ol' Dianne said she agrees, but (this is a quote)" At the time and place of my choosing, it will be revisited."

We got a long way to go with BHO and the anti's. It's coming (previous post), ammo, AWB, tougher reg's.

It will just be a matter a time, before the BIG fight happens.

I note the same too. I also think that if they can't get THE EVENT they need, they are going to try to break the "stranglehold" the NRA has in Washington.  How? I think they will pass more legislation that will attempt to dilute their influence- campaign finance reform, lobbying reform and RICO reform. It would not surprise me to see them attempt to go after the NRA under RICO statutes to bring down the organization. But the clearest path for victory for them is elimination by regulation....

This may seem ridiculous to some, but now is the time to go on the offensive and attempt to retake/expand our rights. Let's put these blue dogs to the test......

A randomly well placed thought......
And did anyone notice that they went to the same location as ABC? I wonder how close was the timing? Do you think there may have been some collaboration? Just a thought.....

FullAuto: I wonder if it's the NRA or how many gun owners there are?

I too thought the piece 'wasn't bad'.  Two things were missed:
1)you can't legally buy a gun and possess it  in VA (or any state) if you don't live in that state.
 2) What is an Assault Gun?  Wikipedia has the answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_gun , but I don't think that's what Leslie meant.  I think she meant:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon  .  Regardless, it was only defined (very poorly) by Di Fi and not the other side (see MB blog  http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2009/04/fair-answer-to-fair-question.html ), just like 'rich' isn't defined as to tax increases.

Why is every TV gun story either 'wasn't bad' or 'bad', and never 'good'?  I will say the 20/20 2007 anti- gun control piece was positive.
