I vote for Steyr but that is just me.
If I had to do it all over again. Either a FN or XD would be my choice. So many accessories. Sig's are nice but very big for CCW and HK are $$$.

Glock 22 40S&W is a good choice all around. For ccw the G26 fits and a G19 is perfect for all things in between. I personally like the G20 10mm over the 45acp.

Not a lot of info to go buy.  You can compete and have fun with just about any Glock except the .380!  Decide what type of competition you want to get into and go from there (Glock Shooting Sports -I believe-, USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challange or whatever).

I saw a report on CBS the other night, where they said that Glock is 18 months behind on production, so it may come down to what your dealer still has. One of the local gun stores here told me that they weren't getting any until 2010.

My son has the Glock 30 SF (Short Frame) which is .45ACP. Holds ten in magazine. Nice gun. Don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose.

I carry a Sig P239 in .40 S&W with Crimson Trace grips.

I like my G27...but I wish I'd have bought the G30 instead....nothing wrong with the .40, but looking at things now, I would rather have the .45.
