Post Your Tea Party
« on: April 15, 2009, 08:28:59 PM »
Some pics from our Tea Party in Austin, TX.  Note worthy moments, a speaker at the mic quoted Thomas Jefferson about the Tree of Liberty, and the people clapped, shouted, and some yelled, "Bring forth the tyrants so we can shed there blood."  The various speakers called for the fed to stay out of the state's business.  After leaving the capitol we walked down Congress Ave to Lady Bird Lake and carried on our rally and a couple of boats in the river threw out the tea boxes of corruption.  Went with one of my little brothers, great time.

Gamedev Brian, we are only a few hundred miles apart, we need to get together, at least for the oncoming fray, people, not from here don't understand what I just said. Thanks for the review and pics.

I can feel it, brother.  And only in Texas can some one say a few hundred miles away and make it sound like your down the street.  ;D  I used to regret moving from Dallas to Austin but know I know I'm where all the actions going to happen.

what is this all about  never heard of a tea party

except from what I seen on here that it looks like I needed to go as the Anti's say I would be raciest by going to one
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Replay of a Pre revolution event when Sam Adams (who's original brew allegedly sucked) and a bunch of other Bostonians  boarded 3 ships and tossed the cargo of tea into the harbor to protest taxes and other British offenses against their rights.

From Austin. TX tea party: The various speakers called for the fed to stay out of the state's business.

Did they call for Texas to stop taking federal money? When ever a state, municipality, or county accept largess from the feds, they cede some of their rights to them, they can't have it both ways. Governor Rick Perry needs to put up or shut up.
Rights are like muscles, when they are not exercised they atrophy.

Unfortunantly, even the money that we weren't taking is now be force upon us, the less loyal members of congress over took Gov. Perry's rejection of some of the money.  And no, none of the speakers mentioned Texas' participation in the stimulus plan, although all did condemn the stimulus as wrong and recognized the stimulus as the fed trying to oppress the states.  Also discussed were the bailouts and the future nationalization of businesses by the fed.  But hey, you can't get everything I suppose.  Everyone there understood that the stimulus is the feds way of attaching chains to local governments.

The fed can only force states to do what they have already agreed to do. States out of greed have gotten themselves into this mess. When they took advantage of the federal benefits, they agreed to the disadvantages.
