OK...you get a chance on the debate.  We have, in essence, yes, undecided and no.  Looks like the libs, being the heavy handed people they are (bye-bye tolerance, eh?  ) have as always, singled out their "enemies".  No such things as a fellow citizen, it's an us or them thing---strange how inclusion somehow means polarization.  Oh well, it's good to know that nothing's changed with the liberal philosophy as applied to coming into power in the US as compared to other nations.  Fence sitters, you have world history to study to see for yourself.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Texas fits the Department's profile of potential domestic terrorism described in their newly released report titled, " Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment".

Islamic extremists' acts of domestic terrorism were recently given the dignity, by Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano and President Obama, of being classified as man-made disasters, and abroad, the "war on terror" has been reclassified as an "overseas contingency plan". But an entire non-Islamic class, or perhaps by extension entire states, according to the report, are not afforded such considerate and cordial titles if they are anti-abortion, tend to harbor returning soldiers stationed in the Middle East, aid and abet the reintegration of military personnel into civilian life within their borders, are anti-illegal immigration, are anti-gun control, possess Christian views, are against high taxes, and are opposed to the overreaching power of the federal government. They fit the assessment of "extremists" that was "provided to federal, state, local, and tribal counterterrorism and law enforcement officials so they may effectively deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacks"

It is the opposition of the "overreaching power of the federal government" that may have sealed Texas's fate as a terror state. Rick Perry's statement on the Governor's website, may have doomed the state of Texas by supporting HCR 50, which supports states' rights under the 10th Amendment. You know the 10th Amendment--the one that expounds on Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution and spells out explicitly the limits of the federal government, just in case the federal government became confused of their limits. Perry stated, "I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state. That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states' rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union....Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas."

The remaining text of the declaration:

A number of recent federal proposals are not within the scope of the federal government's constitutionally designated powers and impede the states' right to govern itself. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims sovereignty under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.

It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.

Let's test Texas's terror threat assessment capabilities based on voting habit:

Against high taxes (no state tax in Texas)--check, check

Anti-illegal immigration--check

Understands the 10th Amendment--check

Rejects federal authority in favor of state or local authority--check

That sums it up: Texas is most definitely a terror state in the eyes of Secretary Napolitano and her agency.

I voted yes.  All my life I've been searching for an identity, thanks DHS, now I know who I'm supposed be.  By the way, these are the most friendly, well mannered, insane folks I've ever met.  The fed shouldn't be trying to turn us into extremist...be careful what you wish for.

Every time a State, County or Municipality does something like this we need to hold them up in front of the Nation as a GOOD example!

Isn't that what the other side is doing to us?

Maybe we should take every good example like this and draw direct links to our Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights.  How about going all the way back to the Mayflower Compact for comparisons?  If we would use historic documents instead of modern documents and polls to see what made this Nation Great, we will go a long way toward keeping it great!

It really ticks me off that those numb nuts running the Federal Government are going to put people like me in the same group as some crazy morons willing to strap a bomb to themselves to kill innocent people.

My answer is no. Just because some libtard sitting at a desk somewhere who doesn't like guns is trying to say anyone who does like/own guns, is an anti-government extremist doesn't mean it's true. I am no terrorist, I don't know any terrorists and if I happen to come across a real terrorist, his life will be even shorter than they intended it to be. And I am sure not going to classify my state of birth, a state I love as nothing but a bunch of whack job crazies.

I can't see how the government could even begin to classify law abiding American citizens as extremist. Just completely baffles me. If anything the current "leaders" are coming real close to terrorism with documents like that. Scaring people and police into thinking they are going to be mowed down in a hail of gun fire by their own gun loving neighbors. It is just plain stupid.

Texans are a proud and independent bunch and should be.  Remember Texas was a independent country before Texas was a state.  Texas probably wishes they could recind that decision now.  It's been awhile since I have visited Texas, but when I have, as long as you got out of the big cities and met some real Texans they were some of the friendliest there are.  Seems like themany of the people I met in the big city were transplants with an attitude.  My dad was born there, but my ties to Texas are pretty thin.  The women are georgeous and kind.

Methinks leftists like Napolitano who misuse government office to persecute those of a different mind, desirous to deny citizens their rights, marginalizing free citizen's beliefs all to discredit them in the minds of the public are the real potential terrorists.  What was really telling is that the internal civil rights review said "DON'T DO IT", but they did it anyway.

But then, that's just me.  Maybe I should say fascist instead of terrorist? 

Pay your taxes, try to be left alone, maybe save enough money to bring the family on vacation and try to raise your family in harmony and people like Napolitano want to beat the jungle drums to demonize harmless people who don't share their beliefs...a very fascist technique.  Reminds me of a man with a queer mustache that used to live across that big pond somewhere east of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina.....in another land, he didn't like a certain group of people either.....and yes, I'd lump Napolitano into that bunch.  Napolitano...a fascist-in-training, no telling what she is capable of.
