....................
In her statement Wednesday, Ms. Napolitano defended the report, which says "rightwing extremism" may include groups opposed to abortion and immigration, as merely one among several threat assessments. But she agreed to meet with the head of the American Legion, who had expressed anger over the report, when she returns to Washington next week from a tour of the U.S.-Mexico border.

"The document on right-wing extremism sent last week by this department's Office of Intelligence and Analysis is one in an ongoing series of assessments to provide situational awareness to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies on the phenomenon and trends of violent radicalization in the United States," Ms. Napolitano said in her statement.

"I was briefed on the general topic, which is one that struck a nerve as someone personally involved in the Timothy McVeigh prosecution," Ms. Napolitano said.

Ms. Napolitano insisted that the department was not planning on engaging in any form of ideological profiling.

"Let me be very clear: We monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don't have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence," Ms. Napolitano said. .............

I watched part of the interview this AM with Matt Lauer on the Today show.  In the brief period while making my morning cup-o-joe they were in the middle of telling more lies concerning the massive flood of "assault weapons" heading into Mexico from the U.S..

As far as right wing extremists, I missed most of that but as stated before, by me.....her lips were moving therefor I assume she is lying.....what a putz....

Lauer is an idiot, I think he must have inherited Katy's va-jay-jay.....

Here's a problem...

The National commander of the VFW is also defending the report!

Quote
Glen M. Gardner Jr., national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, disputed claims that Homeland Security analysts were describing veterans as terror threats.

"The report should have been worded differently, but it made no blanket accusation that every soldier was capable of being a traitor like Benedict Arnold, or every veteran could be a lone wolf, homegrown terrorist like Timothy McVeigh," said Gardner, a Marine veteran from Round Rock, Texas. " It was just an assessment about possibilities that could take place."

At least they are finally coming out and saying what they really think. I always figured they knew how I voted. (voter registration) and I have NO DOUBT they look at where I am online, not to mention any purchases. (you know, bulk ammo IF you can find it) You can pretty much bet the farm they know I'm a member of the NRA and the tax stamps I've aquired for class 3 stuff is sitting on Eric Holders desk. Although I suppose it's probably made its way over to Napolitano by now.
So if they want to label me a right wing extremist, Fine. But I will not EVER apologize for love of country, and for not wanting to see it flushed down the tubes.
I am a member of my nation's chosen soldiery.
God grant that I may not be found wanting,
that I will not fail this sacred trust.

UPDATE: She issues apology

"To the extent veterans read it as an accusation ... an apology is owed,"

"This was an assessment, not an accusation," Napolitano continued. "It was limited to extremists those who seek to commit violence within the United States. And all this was meant to do was to give law enforcement what we call 'situational awareness.'"

"The last thing I want to do is offend or castigate all veterans. To the contrary, let's meet and clear the air," she said.

That don't change the score.  We still know how they really feel, the only thing they're sorry about is that their anti-military view is unpopular.

e12,

Do you seriously consider that an apology?

e12,

Do you seriously consider that an apology?

Have they not commited the original liberal sin in "Profiling" a group of individuals based on assumptions unfounded in truth?

Seems I'm now a radical....I thought I was an American....

e12,

Of course not. I consider it a sign that the Left realized that the military is more sacred then they thought and now they are trying to save face.
