How's Your Carry Gun
« on: April 16, 2009, 09:48:47 PM »
What condition is your carry gun in? Do you baby it and shine it daily for that out of the box look, or does it show character all the beautiful markings of daily carry. One should be so lucky for it to be a work gun and not a show piece! Please show us your carries character!

Can I clean the pocket lint out of the barrel before I take its picture?

You obviously carry ;) :D ;D
I found lint removal and need to lubricate semi-auto's important.

Blow mine out with an air hose......cleans the lint out quickly, too.

My S&W 637 is relatively new (6 months) but I carry it every day and practice with it every other week so it is developing "character".    A few scuffs on the frame and the powder marks on the front of the stainless steel cylinder you can't get off.

I like a gun with a little wear.  It shows that it is not a safe queen.

It may be a safe queen but I would prefer an experienced defender... A safe queen is only that because of workhorses like my Glock 22 and my M&P40...

Sure you can....in about 10 seconds, literally, with an Adco E-Z Brite Wonder Cloth.  About $5-10 and will last you years.  No easier way to clean stainless and nickel revolvers, especially carbon rings on cylinders.

I find the Lint balls make a neat little fireball the first time I fire my carry gun. (Just Kidding) ;)  I try to keep them cleaned out but the little Ba...rds' keep coming back.. So I have done several test fires to make sure it is still going to function with the lint balls in there.

That works great for the fuzzies. Also you might not know this or you may but non chlorinated brake cleaner works well with guns. And it does not leave a residue. I will field strip a pistol and spray it down, wipe it where its the dirtiest , let it air dry and then hit it with the Rem oil or CLP and back together it goes.
