That works great for the fuzzies. Also you might not know this or you may but non chlorinated brake cleaner works well with guns. And it does not leave a residue. I will field strip a pistol and spray it down, wipe it where its the dirtiest , let it air dry and then hit it with the Rem oil or CLP and back together it goes.

Just be very careful with the brake cleaner. It doesn't do well with some types of plastic. My oldest melted the trigger guard on his Marlin 60 with the stuff (don't know which brand).
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I keep my G26 clean and ready. Every two weeks I go over it top to bottom and swap out the mags with others in my kit. Remember to clean out mags some people forget.

True, that is why it must be the Non Chlorinated kind. And the cheep Autozone stuff works good.

The Paracoat is worn off at the slide stop, thumb safety and a bit at the dust cover, starting to show some wear from holster chaffing and the magwell is devoid of any coating at all.  Only had it 9 months though...couple nicks on the slide too.

Shoot it, clean it, holster it....dust it off and keep her lubed with a silicone wrag thingy....If not shooting regularly, a quick field strip and lube job, function test (very important) weekly....eveything by the book as written by my Uncle Sam and several others since 1911.....

No mo Lint:

Buy a box of the really cheap thin plastic sandwich bags.  Put gun in bag, practice with it.  Your hand will tear through the bag like its not even there.  As will the slide, or any other part of the gun when it cycles.

Option 2: Cut the small end off a foam ear plug.  Place in end of barrel.  I've tested this with a few guns, absolutely no negative effects at all.  It was one of the tricks recommended in Iraq to keep sand out.  I know, I know, bring up visions of all kinds of malfunctions, explosions, and wildness...  Your using about 1/3rd - 1/2 a foam ear plug, not the smooth coated ones that stick to smooth surfaces, the spungy ones.  It works. ;D

Pocket lint in the barrel would have no ill effects on the operation of the firearm -- as long as it is not gargantuan in size and would physically cause a squib load. The plastic bag is also overkill and a possible liability in a gun fight. Just take the time to field strip and de-lint your carry gun once in a while..... you will be fine.

Enrieca12, I agree 100% with the lint not causing big problems.  It just bugs me finding the lint all inside the action and everything at the end of the day.  And I do like the baggy idea for my smallest guns.  It works great, the gun comes out spotless, no interferance in operation at all once you practice with it.  And actually helps keep the hammer on my gun from catching on cloth durring the draw!

Like a Bible. If you do not see a little wear and tear than you are not using it properly!!!  ;D
