Where are the 9mm 1911s and M&Ps on this list?

My 2nd 1911 was a Springfield Loaded model in 9mm - I wanted to practice wit the 1911 but didn't want to pay the then outrageous $4.85/50 cost of .45 ammo! As much as I love my T series High Power, nothing beats a good 1911 trigger, and the 9mm 1911 is one of my favorite guns. A little work by Bill Fender didn't hurt, either.

I also recently picked up a M&P Pro in 9mm. In general, I'm not a fan of polymer guns. I own a few, and they're certainly fine guns for people who like them, but I never liked the DA (or safe action) triggers. Then I tried the M&P Pro. I don't think it'll ever replace my beloved 1911 trigger, but I'm really looking forward to shooting Production this summer. It has the best DA trigger I've ever felt on a semi-auto.

Which raises a question: Why can't anyone make a DA pistol trigger as smooth as a good DA revolver trigger?

It's a guess but I would say mechanical lay out of the mechanism.

Im burning up the paper targets with my pre-S&W  Walther P-99. Ive recently been able to get enough high cap mags that I can justify taking it to a class and doggone if I can't get the hits with it way WAY better than my Glock 19.

Now, all I need is a decent holster..

Try the Para LDA trigger. I think you'll be surprised at how nice it is.

Being in the market like everyone else it seems I went to the gun shop today and tried on a couple of 9mm on the range. My wife and I shot a Glock...can't remember the number, it was a the one aboe the 26 I think so probably a 19? and we shot a sig 220. We've enver shot a semi-auto pistol before so this was an experience for both of us. I figures we'd try 9mm befor 40 or 45. We had a good time but the muzzle flip was too much for the wife to control. She was happier with the SW636 in .357. She needs more training and practice with the pistols before she can be happy and confident handling them. I liked them both. Next time I'll try a full size 9mm in the Glocks and maybe the HK P2000.

If you decide to go with the Glock (and who would't?) I'd reccomend the 19 over the 17. I have and love them both, but the 19 is a bit easier to conceal and you really don't sacrifice accuracy. The 17 is a little more "solid" for lack of better word, feeling in rapid fire,, but they're both great.

My Sweetie just went through a GUNSITE class with an FNP-9mm...as usual, ran like a clock and she shot very well with it. I still think it's one of the best buys out there.

My Para P18 LDA competition gun has a reworked DAO trigger that most DA revolvers would envy. The Carry 9 I usually cary around all the time has a little heavier trigger, but is still on par with a good DA revolver. I've shot Todd Jarrett's LDAs, and the triggers are amazingly smooth and light...lucky I didn't shoot myself in the foot!
