MB,

What do ya think of the Sig P-6 (yes, actual P-6).  I can get one for 340 (used - in very good condition).

My future SIL bought one last fall for about 600....great little shooter...German made, date of mfg should be stamped on the muzzle end of the slide, right side...his was stamped 11/79...

My current favorite 9mm is my Kimber Tactical Pro.  It shoots way better than I can and has been 100% reliable.  The fact that it is the 1911 platform only make it all the better.  Also in the stable: FN P-9, Beretta 92FS, and a Springfield EMP that is my current carry gun.

Damn!  I really need some range time.

Not really, he just bought a Mitsubishi Spyder....with the exception my daughter and his Sigs, you could wave a shiney penny in front of him and he'll give you a quarter for it......combination of too much income and not enough sense!

I believe the Sig P-6/225 is one of the baseline best Sigs ever made and has been wildly undervalued, largely because of the flood of German police guns. I carried one for years and still occasionally carry/shoot it (as recently as last week when I was using my P-6 in some instructional stuff). I know a bunch of cops who carry Sigs using the P-6 for off-duty concealed carry. Even Bill Murphy, who bleeds Glock polymer, conceded the P-6 was a great little gun (he bought one for his daughter). I begged CT to make LaserGrips for it, to no avail (since it's an out-of-production gun).

The P239 was the designated gun to fill the 225 niche, but I don't think it ever really succeeded in doing that...the $840 MRSP ($915 with night sights) on the 239 surely didn't help! I thought the P250 Compact might well step into that notch, and I liked the prototypes I shot. In the end, though, that long DAO trigger pull, long reset (and $750 MSRP) put the 250 into the HK P-7 category...a gun you need to shoot exclusively to shoot it well...

I am somewhat into 9mm's. I like my Sig 228 right well.

I have a well worn G17 that was my very first handgun purchase back 10 years ago. Glock17's are simple and shoot all day and all night. I give it a diet of 124grn nato and +p 9mm. I sent it in to lonewolf to have it refinished. 11,000 rnds as of shipping.
