Open carry in Wisconsin
« on: April 21, 2009, 04:40:24 PM »
Well we won this one. Our state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen ruled that open carry doesn't warrant a charge of disorderly conduct. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper already is asking if this will mean we will be packing heat. Not wanting to use thier names without thier permission. I'll say that two of our braver members one from from West Allis Wi. was acquited after being charged in August with disorderly conduct for having a holstered handgun while doing yard work. He was taken to jail but not charged. And last week J. Gonzalez filed a federal lawsuit against West Milwaukee and Chilton Wi. after police detained him for open carrying a holstered gun in Menards and Wal Mart. We will see where this one goes. Now onto CCW. We can only hope.

Open carry and concealed carry should be the norm. I apologize, it's wrong to scare criminals and liberals, but I repeat myself.
Rights are like muscles, when they are not exercised they atrophy.

It's certainly a great step. However, watch for the provisions.

As in my old state of NC, any store, business entity, merchant, etc,... just has to post a sign on the front door, the one with the pistol with a line drawn through it, for those that don;t habla Ingles....

Most of the locals will not but some will,.. Hope CCW comes soon for you.

Spent a lot of time in Oconto and Sturgeon Bay, with time in Pulaski. They make Cruisers, Rampage, Carver, and Marquis Yachts up there for many tech schools I went every year, in December no less!

Ate lots of cheese and beer eh'. ;) Grampa Z's Cheese is great in Oconto. 1 pound brick of homemade cheese $7.00.

Suitcase smelled lake cheddar when I got home. ::)  The Polka festival in Pulaski was pretty rowdy I might add at the VFW.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
