flying high with my REDHAWK 44MAG.
« on: September 07, 2007, 04:38:36 PM »
I got to go to the range today with my ruger redhawk. man what a gun!!!! the scope was dead on but the thought of how much recoil i might have had me little shakey. after a few shots things went from i don't know to i love this bird. this has got to be the most fun i have had with a wheel gun. i hope my Henry big boy in 44mag  is just as easy to shoot and enjoy. do think shooting both of them the same day will overload my excitement box?  xd40.....

You can look forward to having fun with your Redhawk for many years to come as I have over 200,00 rounds in my that I bought back in 1988, I recently sent my in into Ruger's for some work after telling them that I handload and a lot of them were of the hot verity  and they s did the work at no charge and did not change my trigger job. for more info go to rugerforum.com Its a freesite and worth its weight in gold.

I totally agree.  There is just something about a BIG handgun.  I have the Super Redhawk in 454.  That is the greatest.  Do you handload or cast your own?  I cast my own 300 grain bullets and they are deadly accurate.  Welcome to the Big Guns.

The only thing I did not like about my Redhawk (45) when I bought it was the grips (too small).  I put a set of wood Houges with the butt cap on it and I love it!

I bought Rugers 4 inch version of the Redhawk 44mag earlier this year.  It came with Houge rubber grips from the factory, which I didn't like, so I picked up a set of rosewood grips.  Over at the Ruger forum they are saying that the 4 incher will be offered in 45lc this year. I hope they are right.
You've come a far piece pilgrim.

I love my 4-incher! You'll see it on SG next season. Hamilton Bowne and I are working on the 56-50 Redhawk snubbie...
