Mine's a little uglier than Alf's (I call it 'doorstop')....but (as previously posted on another thread) it's still my favorite......and the absolute last gun I'd let go.

It was a "mistreated child" that was missing parts and I took it in and made it work again.

***EDIT***
Sorry about the size being so big (? ? ?). Don't know why it came out so large. I didn't do anything different than normal.

WOW, PegLeg.  That was "eye popping".   I'm not sure my eyes were awake enough for that picture.

Do you remember who made the sights?   Ours look similar.   I think it was MMC?

The trigger and hammer may be my next items to replace.
Will work for ammo

I was going to ask you about your sights because they look the same. Mine are Millet Target sights.
All the internal components are from Chip McCormick because when I put it together it was all I could afford at the time and since it shoots so well, I will just leave it as is. The extended slide stop and mag release are Wilson's.

As a side note, the rough finishing where the beavertail mates to the frame is not all my work. I bought it as a basket case from a gun show dealer I knew back in '89 because I wanted to try my hand at working on a 1911. The previous owner had started hogging away metal with what I can only assume was a 7" grinder (slight exaggeration, but you get the point). I was lucky to be able to clean it up at all.

Beautiful handgun Pegleg.

Thanks.
It shoots better than it looks....at least it shoots better than me.    ;)

I've got a whole room full of guns like that, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying them  ;D
