Ruger P-94 or SigSauer 228
« on: May 18, 2009, 03:58:22 PM »
I am somewhat debating which to use for my carry gun.

The Ruger is .40 S&W & is about the upper limit I enjoy for rapid fire. It has grips with the finger grooves which aids me in recoil recovery. It also fits my hand well. The thing I don't like about it is that it does not have a decocking lever.

The Sig is 9mm & is easy to decock. It fits my hand fairly well.

I have multiple clips for both. If you hold both of them with the grip almost level with the ground will eject a full clip when you hit the clip release. I figured this is a good thing if a person is in a sustained fight.

On targets I am about equal with both.

I have a ParaOrdnance 1911 but it is bigger and harder for me to conceal. It will not eject the clip when I hit the clip release, you have to physically pull it out. But I realize a good pistol smith can fix that. It will be relegated to the house.

I confess In am leaning towards the Ruger but would like to hear a reasoned dicussion for either one
There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor polite, nor popular -- but one must ask, "Is it right?"

If you like them both so well you can't decide I would go with the bigger hole.
9mm may expand perfectly, but the .40 will not shrink.

Most people will advise the Sig because it is popular.  In contrast, I advise the Ruger because it is a rugged piece of equipment that will endure the tough use you put it through.

Are you saying that the Sig will not?
