Quote
Nearly half of Nevadans have had enough of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as the powerful Democrat heads into his re-election campaign, a new Las Vegas Review-Journal poll finds.

About a third of the state’s voters would re-elect Reid if the 2010 election were held today, according to the poll, but 45 percent say they would definitely vote to replace him. Seventeen percent would consider another candidate.

The findings are echoed by another poll question about Reid’s popularity that finds the four-term incumbent to be a polarizing figure in his home state.

Half of Nevada voters had an unfavorable view of Reid, while 38 percent had a favorable view and 11 percent a neutral opinion.

The statewide poll of 625 Nevadans who vote regularly was conducted by telephone last week by Washington-based Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. for the Review-Journal. It carries a margin of error of 4 percentage points in either direction.

Lets wish Harry luck, because if he goes Chuck Schumer is definately at the head of the pack to replace him.

Amen! Reid is just stupid and not completely anti-gun, but Schumer is pure evil! The only thing worse than Schumer in charge would be to have a California senator in charge.

"This war is lost",.....

"The surge has failed",.......

quotes from Sen. Reid.

I say:

"YOU are lost!"

"YOU have failed"

Time for a Daschle treatment,.......and don't go away mad,......just GO AWAY!

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Fuzzdaddy has it right. Reid IS an idiot, but a generally pro-gun idiot, whether this is out of principle or self preservation, I don't care. He voted against Clintons AWB, and has not allowed any anti-gun stuff to come the floor since he's been leader. The NRA gives him an A. Schumer hates guns. Its not opportunism, he is as much a true believer as Kennedy or MaCarthy. He also headed the Dem Senate Campaign Committee in '06 and '08. They lost not one incumbent and gained enough seats to put them at 60. He has a lot of markers to call in, and will be the odds on favorite for Reid's job. If Reid loses, we get Schumer, in exchange for a freshman Senator from the minority party, who will be sharing office space with a janitor's mop. Do the math.

Would I rather be run over by a Mack Truck? OR by a locomotive,.....

Answer?

Reid needs to go, if the voters in NV "get it", and remove him, it will send a message. Schumer won't get it, but it will give him a reality slap.

Although the NY voters (just like the San Fran Nan crowd) KEEP re-electing these people, just like Uncle Teddy K.

There's always the "duh" factor of the voting sector.

I hope NV gets it right with Reid.

Maybe if we get rid of enough lefties and even some moderate Republi-crats in 2010, we won't have to worry about any Senate leaders or  House speakers from the left anymore. That sounds like a great Thanksgiving present to give BHO next year! How many seats are up in each anyway?

Every House seat and one third of the Senate. The problem is though, that the GOP failed to learn from the Dems. In the '70s and '80s and early '90s the Dems drank the "pure" ideology Kool-aid. It cost them the South and the West and they took a trip into the wilderness. They then, under Howard Dean, discovered that maybe being pro-gun or pro-life, or pro-death penalty was ok, if you on board with the other 80% of the platform and the unions were going to suck it up or go where exactly?. The Gop is repeating the Dems earlier mistake and attacking "rhinos" (never a smart thing without a .577 T-Rex). As a result they have lost the entire North East, except for Me., and they are thretening to go after Collins and Snow (because surely a hard right Republican will win up there ::). Likewise Arlen Specter has defected. A party that doesn't understand that politics is the art of the possible, with the possible being defined as recognizing that most folks aren't ideolouges, is screwed. The Dems learned this the hard way. I think the GOP is fixin to.

Reid is like Murtha, He may be pro gun, but I wish he weren't, because when the revolution comes I will still cheerfully put him against the wall.
