Trust me Tom, I am not into Starbucks Corporate Coffee either. Just seems like there is a Starbucks on every corner anymore. Can't see how people pay such a high price for "sissified" coffee.
Astronomy rocks. Love the clear nights where most of the sky can be observed.
That is a huge benefit of living out in the country. After so many years of living in the city, I still remember the first night on the ranch, watching the stars, seeing the Milky Way. Re-started my interest in astronomy at that point. Didn't get far - running (and working) a ranch makes you tired at night! A night sky so dense with stars that finding the Big Dipper was hard at first with so many stars visible.
Best reaction was my son, though. He took the bus from Chicago out to a small town near us. I picked him up about 9 at night, winter, and five miles south of the freeway, I pulled over and told him to get out, I wanted to show him something. When the last car door closed, there was this moment of silence, then from the dark came "Oh, wow!"
