Did Ronald Reagan Stop a Crime?

It could just be the hour. But did Ronald Reagan stop a mugging or rape of a woman with a concealed weapon? I seem to remember a story about Ronald Reagan stopping some type of crime against a woman, using a colt python or other concealed pistol long before he became President Reagan. Anyone ever hear of this, or is it just wishful thinking at 3 in the morning?
