Ultimate Burr in Liberal Saddles: Lone Wolf Cheney.
« on: May 21, 2009, 06:45:13 PM »
Where are the Republicans, is there not but a few left?  Evidently so, and the MSM and BHO admin, (same difference IMHO),

can't get the burr (Cheney) out of their boxers.  I love to see BHO get all "pissy", when confronted with an opposing view.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0509/22804.html

President Barack Obama declared defiantly Thursday that the U.S. "went off course" in fighting terrorism over the past eight years, and said his policies will "better protect" the country against al Qaeda.

In a remarkable split-screen presentation of opposing worldviews, former Vice President Dick Cheney spoke across town moments later, saying he supported the controversial policies "when they were made, and without hesitation would do so again in the same circumstances."

"The point is not to look backward," Cheney said. "A lot rides on our President’s understanding of the security policies that preceded him. And whatever choices he makes concerning the defense of this country, those choices should not be based on slogans and campaign rhetoric, but on a truthful telling of history."

OH, and for fightingquaker, who I know is NO Cheney/Bush fan, ask yourself what are Cheny's motivations for becoming so vocal.

Money:  NO
Political Power: Uh, NO
Legacy: NO (it will take more than a generation to get an honest review).

Maybe, just maybe, he is the only one left in the Conservative Party with Balls! Who loves this country, knows it is going in the WRONG direction, and is calling BS on BHO's "eloquent, intellectual rhetoric" (as long as the teleprompter is working).

There is more to the article, I just didn't want to post a long thread, but it is a good one, and I love it when Libs squirm.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Of all the things he could of said, what he said (based on what is printed) was nothing but class;

1.  Supported the President;
2.  Would make the same decisions again given the same information;
3.  Speaking for self and not putting words in anyone's mouth;
4.  Wish the best for the current President.

Class in any situation, and given the way he and President Bush have been treated Real Class!
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

You forgot the staying out jail for abuse of power and violating the constitution part. However we both know how much and why I despise the man. What you should ask yourself as a Republican is, do you really want this guy with about a twenty percent aproval rating to be the voice of your party? Maureen Dowd wrote in a column recently that Joe Biden gets out of bed and prays "Dear God let Cheney be on TV today", because he knows that it will trump whatever idiotic thing comes out of his mouth. I'm neither Democrat nor Republican, but I would think that not too many GOP hopefuls are happy to turn on the news and see Cheney talking about torture, again. It makes it kind of hard for them to move on, which is what Cheney wants. I thought Slick Willy had the biggest ego in politics, I think I might have been wrong.

I don't mind it....because I guess it all depends on who is doing the 'rating' to start with.

Well, I registered Independent for the disappointment in McCain, and Maureen Dowd and Joe Biden should never be used as a credible reference,
because she is nothing but a left wing lap dog, and he is frankly a buffoon.

The CNN poll (out today), actually has Cheney's approval rating going up.  Just like Kalifornia voters who voted down 2 to 1 tax increases for their failed state. Imagine that. Liberals think that the common folk don;t have it right, check the LA Times today.

Obama and liberals are outclassed by Cheney and they know it. Moreover, Republicans are so worried about their own seats they are treading too lightly to stand up for something that the American People actually want. Cheney could care less. So why not call BS when he sees it?

If an election were held today:

Do the American People want to invest billions of dollars in the car companies?

That would be a NO.

Do the American People want to deficit spend trillions of dollars on the backs of their children?

Another No.

We didn;t have a vote did we?

Point being, Why is Cheney doing this, what are his motivations?

If the GOP is not happy about Cheney talking, than that reinforces my point of registering Independent.

Slick Willy, your right, does not have the biggest ego, BHO does, and can't stand a former VP make him look like a child, rookie, community organizer, which is all he is. Compared to Biden, C'mon.......

Considering that at the time the Dem dominated Congress had an approval rating of 9% Yes I do. Just because there are a lot of ignorant assholes around does NOT mean I have to be one of them.

I know this will put your lacies in a bind but 2000 years has proven that the only EFFECTIVE way to deal with terrorists is to KILL the fuc@#rs

By the way FQ the way you threw out that 28% with out mentioning congress' 9% is the sort of intellectual dishonesty that the Socialists use.
and leads to a total lack of respect from informed people who see it

There is also that bit where for the last 8 years the traitors have been accusing Bush and Cheney of being Satan, the return of Hitler etc. but now they are continuing the policies that Bush and Cheney started because they have no clue what to do.
You can bash The Bush administration, but the FACT that no SUCCESSFUL attacks have taken place here since 9-11 suggests that they had some idea what they were doing and that those doing the bashing are fools.

Ok, I am digging my foxhole as I type this but here goes...

The main reason that I had any confidence in the Bush White House was simply because of the presence of Cheney. I will vouch one hundred percent for the integrity of this man. I can do this because I have known the man for as long as I can remember. He was always very active in the community, and always took the time to talk to people. I remember when we were kids we used to go out and shoot prairie dogs on his ranch. On more than one occasion he wound up sitting right next to us on the hill, just blastin' away. I will tell you all this, What you see Cheney doing right now has nothing to do with covering his own ass. Right now I'll bet he'd like to just be retired, but he understands the destruction that BHO is causing, and is refusing to sit back and let it happen. These are the actions of a true leader, and someone who cares how he leaves the world.

Now just let me put my helmet on and you guys can nuke me.
I am a member of my nation's chosen soldiery.
God grant that I may not be found wanting,
that I will not fail this sacred trust.
