My wife's big problem is she is a better shot with a handgun than I am.  Not good for the macho man image and I practice more than she does.  We have a building beside our house where I can shoot indoors.  It is also in the sticks, as said in the south. Anyway, when she got the P9, we were both looking for the same pistol.  She found it first and reluctantly, she got it and I didn't.  She recently got a "Smith Airweight" 38 revolver.  It is aluminum, very light and a bitchy little gun to shoot.  I never thought a 38 could kick so much.  A box of 50 equals a sore hand, especially a arthritic hand.

Doesn't sound to me like your wife is the one with the 'problem'.  ;)

As long as you get all of the second-hand guns, no problems.

Congrats on P9. Whatever makes you feel comfortable with the firearm is fine in reference to not carrying it with one in the pipe. But as the other guys mentioned, it will not go boom with a round in the chamber till the trigger is pulled. I would suggest practicing alot if you are not going to carry with a round in. Keep in mind that it is wasted time to chamber a round in a defensive situation where the blood is flowing and anxiety kicks in.

I have the same type of "problem", which is why I carry an auto while Mrs. T carries a wheelgun.  I need the extra rounds to inflict the same damage.   ;D

After reading hear and practicing my quikdraw and load,  I decided due to my lightning speed, I'd better keep one in the chamber otherwise I'd be shot  for sure.   ;D  Got a pocket holster ordered too.

The Kahrs are great pistols, the trigger is heavy enough but smooth, it will not go off in your pocket, and only with deliberation once the trigger is applied.......

Unless you happen to also have a set of keys in the same pocket.  The keys WILL wedge themselves into the trigger housing.   Change you into a girly man in an instant.   :o

Getting stuck BEHIND the trigger is bad to because then it doesn't go BANG because the trigger doesn't go back

Which is why EVERYTHING except the gun goes in my lefthand pocket.  Gun and holster ONLY in the right!!  I prefer to avoid the gun not going bang when I need it to AND being turned into a girly-man.      No smart-ass remarks are required, nor will be tolerated.   ;D
