A great Unicameral session!

The Nebraska Unicameral hit a home run for gunowners this session, they passed a update to our CCW law, which states cities and villiages can't make regulations more strict than state law, it includes reprocity with other states and allows churchs to determine if they want CCW holders as security.   They also passed a Range Protection act and a bill was introduced to explore putting together a bill for a Castle doctrine.  All this after getting rid of one bad apple in the Unicameral, term limits do work...

Congratulations! Particularly on the reciprocity thing. The more states that recognize one anothers CCW laws, the harder it will be for the feds to restrict them.

That is certainly cause for enjoying that warm feeling of security. I salute your legislative body in it's awareness of it's citizen's best interest. North Carolina has most of that in place now, but the Castle Doctrine is still resisted by the liberal dominated legislature. Several large churches, as well as corporations, are quietly sending key members for CCW training and licensing in the Raleigh area. Y'all must be putting pressure in the right places, WW. Keep up the good work.

Is the reciprocity law open to residents of any state, or only with states that have reciprocity agreements with Nebraska?

The reprocity will be with other states that have equal or more stringent qualifications than Nebraska, so I'd bet Vermont will be not included, it will be interesting to see what the attorney general's office put's together for the reprocity list...

Pleae keep me posted.  I live about an hour from NE Nebraska.  In fact, we have a store in Nebraska that I visit fairly regularly.  And it's a real pain to stop at the edge of the town the store is located in and put my carry gun into the trunk of the car before I cross the river.

Piece of advice. Check and then double check to make sure its ok. I got my CPL in Tx right after the law was passed. The cops were clueless at first. My friend almost got arrested for having a gun in her glove box after getting pulled over despite us BOTH having permits. I think it was the fact that she was from Tyle,r blond, hot and wearing could chartiably be called a bikin that got her out of it more than sweet reason. PS The reason the glove box was a problem was that prior to the CPL, you could carry a pistol unconcealed on the car seat next to you (within easy reach) the glove box was a no no (as it might be a danger to the cop). God bless Texas, gotta love it.

That's the problem we both have, Nebraska and Iowa do not have reprocitical agreements, I shot CAS in Logan, Iowa and have to stop in Nebraska and put up by carry gun...

Florida Law

790.015  Nonresidents who are United States citizens and hold a concealed weapons license in another state; reciprocity.--

(1)  Notwithstanding s. 790.01, a resident of the United States who is a nonresident of Florida may carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm while in this state if the nonresident:

(a)  Is 21 years of age or older; and

(b)  Has in his or her immediate possession a valid license to carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm issued to the nonresident in his or her state of residence.

(2)  A nonresident is subject to the same laws and restrictions with respect to carrying a concealed weapon or concealed firearm as a resident of Florida who is so licensed.

(3)  If the resident of another state who is the holder of a valid license to carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm issued in another state establishes legal residence in this state by registering to vote, or making a statement of domicile pursuant to s. 222.17, or filing for homestead tax exemption on property in this state, the license shall remain in effect for 90 days following the date on which the holder of the license establishes legal state residence. This section applies only to nonresident concealed weapon or concealed firearm licenseholders from states that honor Florida concealed weapon or concealed firearm licenses.

Sadly, Iowa honors NO other state's carry permits.
