I have a sp101 in .357 and love it. I like the idea of the .327 but ammo is hard to find and .38 and .357 is not. If I didn't shoot so much I would have got one for the extra round but I wouldn't be able to shoot it enough to be happy. Besides I already had .357/.38 reloading dies and brass.
Makes sense to me. I stilll prefer my six round Security Six .357 snubbie to my SP 101 .357. I like the extra shot, plus the Security Six was my first handgun. Still can't beat the .357 magnum as the ultimate defense round. Perfect balance of power and penetration. Just curious about the .327 mag.
Kid, My first handgun ever was a stainless steel 4 inch .357 Security Six that I still have. It has been joined by a snubby Speed Six with the round butt. Sweet. Have you seen the prices for Service, Security and Speed Sixes lately? They are becomming very collectible. There is a guy on eBay that makes custon American elk grips for all of the above. They can even come with Ruger medallions. They fit perfectly and look awesome on my Security Six.
