I played with one at the NRA convention, and must say is much better than a normal Ruger DA trigger, and In my own opinion, better than most J frame Smiths, and I am a S&W guy to the end.
I haven't even seen one yet, but that's some mighty high praise from a Smith man. I'm more interested than ever.

Thanks M25

Anytime somebody wants to let their hammerless SP101 go just let me know!

Badger....you can take any SP101 and replace the hammer with the spurless.  Most folks can do it themselves though Ruger advises to have it installed.  Their policy is such that if you DO send it in, you won't get the other hammer back.  I've been trying to find a source outside of Ruger with no luck.

Any one who can help?

If Numrich doesn't have it they'll get it.  They ship fast. Parts are original factory or at least as good. I have been very happy with them. I bought some Security Six parts that Ruger didn't even carry anymore. Link below:

Thanks Kid.  I'll try Numrich but the e-gunparts site doesn't differentiate between hammers.  I'll keep checking.. ;)

DOH!  Found the spurless but alas, they don't stock it and advise factory fitting.

Is the SP101 trigger much different than that of the Redhawk I wonder?  I put a spring kit in my Redhawk in a matter of minutes.  I dont think there's a whole lot to most revolver triggers / hammers.  Though Ruger DID put a mechanism in my .44 carbine no gunsmith wants to even talk about much less touch!  I honestly believe it's got more springs and levers than my other twenty something guns all together...

I just bought a Wolfe spring kit for my SP101.  I'll post the results when I get them installed.  I'll probably start with just the mainspring and see how it feels.  The stock spring is 14 lbs and the kit comes with one/ea in 9, 10, and 12 with a trigger return spring of 8 lbs.

The guys to ask on Ruger triggers is probably Mr. Bane, the Hazcat or several others on the board.

I did buy an LCR the other day and took it to the range.  Compared to my S and W 642:

1)  The trigger is better out of the box

2)  The LCR shoots "softer" than the 642 - not sure why as it is a lighter gun

3)  The sights are better

The LCR was more picky about ammo as it shot much better with 158 gr than 125 gr.

I got to shoot the LCR and it is sweet. Recoil is no problem even with +p. The LCR is sweet I may have to have one as a companion to my sp101. Some of you were talking about the springs in the sp101. I changed mine and it was easy as pie. The sp101 is so simple to disassemble I love it.

I bought an LCR last week while on vacation. I still haven't gotten to run any rounds thru it yet, but dry firing feels sweet. I'm gonna get out Tuesday or Wednesday and fire a few rounds. I'll let you know how it goes.
