Asking as an AR novice, I assume that this a cleaner system since the escaping gases are limited to the short chamber forcing the piston rearward to cycle the bolt.  Is there less gas pressure required to cycle the action and if that's true, would the balistics be a little hotter with the same cartridge/bullet combination?

Don't know about the pressure, have to leave that for M25 or MB but cleaner, YES. That's why I'm hoping I'll win the CMMG .308 when it comes out. (That and inexpensive Mags )

Pretty slick. Seems like quite a different recoil, perhaps more?, as a mechanical "upper" guide rod sends the bolt back vs. the gas itself?

Kinda makes you go Hmmmmm...

That's another one we'll need to leave to M25, I just know it's cleaner, and supposed to be more reliable.
I just hope CMMG leaves off that damn fool forward assist, if you need to manually drive the bolt home you shouldn't shoot it.

Really like how it showed the operations of both types of systems. Really like the piston system. Read where it is cleaner but wondering if the gas released is a cloud and possibly give away when firing with cover?

No more than your muzzle flash, just like almost every other gas operated semi auto rifle.

I've got an AA system that I'm testing out right now.  So far I've been very impressed with it.

That is why I like my Robinson XCR, and the new Ruger, or Sig ARs. They use larger AK style pistons with recoil springs so you can fold the stocks and you don't get that "ping" sound in your ears like a traditional AR style. And they will run even after being placed in mud, sand, or water.
