Greetings,

     I have bifocals for distance and and reading, this causes me to have to tilt my head back to use the computer. I just purchased a pair of glasses for that reasonr, focusing about arm length to see the screen.
     What focus should I have in my shooting glasses? Knowing that rifle is different from pistol, i.e. rear sight is close while front sight is  at the end of the rifle, and with pistol you hold both sights are arm length. so what do I need?
     Eyesight is good at distance, just slightly out of focus.

Suffering from the same affliction as your self, remember that you need to focus on the front sight post, be it on a pistol or rifle.  Then put the front sight on top of the target, but always focusing that front sight.  When I shoot, I identify the target, then let my vision slip back to the front sight, your rear sight will be out of focus, so will the target.  So what ever works up close is what I'd go with, if you can see well enough to identify the target at distance than you should be all set, remember the forth rule of firearms, know your target and whats in front and beyond.  But it sounds like you need something for you up close vision, so you can grab that front sight.  A fully extended pistol front sight and rifle front sight while standing or at the bench should be about the same distance from you eyes.

I use small frame reading glasses at a power of 2.50 for reading and the computer. For target shooting I wear a full frame pair at power factor 1.0. This allows me to see the target and the sights without one or the one being blurred.

haha  not far, my Mrs works up that way though
