I believe that the Brady bunch is using half truths to "get something done".  If I'm not mistaken, the 5.7 round was made specifically for piercing soft body armor.  Of course, you would have to have the ammo with the steel penetrators.  As far as the weapon itself, its an unusual gun to say the least: mostly plastic, saftey's in an usual but innovative place and it's easy to shoot.  I've thought about giving one to my girlfriend as personal protection piece.
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I wouldn't Brosometal
The round just seems too small and too fast. Little hole, LOTS of penetation. The pistol just seems like an after thought to the P90 so SWAT teams could use the same round. You could buy her one and a half Glocks (or insert your gun of choice) for the price and probably have a better SD set up. That being said, the P90 works great on Star Gate Command, so if its aliens not zombies, that might be $900 well spent. ;D

I can get one cheaper and that's all I'm gonna say about that.  Besides, small holes or not, 20 is a pant-load of rounds to absorb, and she doesn't like any of my .45s.

Teal'c switched to the M249.  Got to trust the former first prime of Apophis.

IIR the P90 was developed as a tanker's defensive weapon for NATO, not for SWAT. The Five seveN was developed as a NATO partner to the P90 and was first demonized by the Newark Police Department as 'a cop-killer' and a 'gang weapon' despite the glaring minimal presence of said firearm anywhere in the US at the time - with the notable exception of in government armories of various flavors.

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

They tend to miss little details like that.
