Century AK 1975 GP quality HELP!!!

Ok. Here's the deal. I ordered a saiga 7.62x39 on guntoker. I was very pleased with the rifle. However, my local gundealer refuses to accept transfers from internet brokers if they stock the same gun (though I had no warning of this policy). This is very fair and understandable, and I'd much rather deal locally anyway. However, she wants $750 for a new Saiga as opposed to $370 on guntoker. I offered her $50 on top of the transfer fee. Denied, and the seller wants to relist pronto. So I will have to start again with a new seller and a new ffl. I took the advice of a forum member and checked out Classic Arms. There I can get the Saiga for $350 OR I can get a Century Arms US built AK 1975 GP, totally 922r compliant with 4 new tapco mags and a bag and sling for $550. Anyone have experience with this AK variant? The reason I'm posting here, is that I am hoping for a fast response from someone with an informed opinion.

 I have experience with Century and it's not good their workers are hackers, their G 3's are notorious for sights that are so far off you can't adjust them onto paper ( 12+ MOA at 100 yrds) Have heard other complaints as well.
 Does the term "grinder monkeys" sound any warnings ?

I know I am little late on this post, but I am confused now. I thought you already had the Saiga in hand. From the looks of it though, you were still waiting on it.

Too bad to hear that your local gun dealer won't take in transfers. It is understandable but at the same time they should look at the transfer fee as easy money.

Do you provide them with a lot of business? If so, I would stop going there and inform them you will not suggest any of your friends frequent their place of business either.

I can't offer you any info on Century Arms, but wouldn't it easier to get another dealer to accept the transfer then start looking for another firearm? Excuse my ignorance on this matter, but I have never ordered from a gun auction site. So with that being said, why would the seller want to re-list the item after you have paid for it?

Either way, it sucks to find yourself in that situation. Hope you get it worked out.

Hell, even our pawnshops here do FFL transfers, and cheaper than the gun stores too. Check them out.

FQ13 I dont have any personal experience with Century, although I believe they are more of a distribution center for different makes of dubious quality. Call around and find a shop that will do the transfer is my best advice, Im sure the seller will hold it till then wont they ?

I have a total of 4 Century GP-1975 AK-47's and have had really good luck with all of them. Solid, straight sights, excellent functioning. Far and above the quality level I've seen the standard WASR-10's with the plywood stocks. Maybe I'm lucky, I don't know, but I feel for the price the Century GP-1975 AK-47 is one of the better deals out there right now. I'm toying with the idea of picking up an Arsenal SGL20-41, but to be perfectly honest, I can't justify the price when you place it next to a GP-1975 which can be had for almost half the cost. I'm not knocking the Arsenal. I'm sure they are put together a little better by more experienced personnel, but for the price it should be. I know several guys at our club who have the GP-1975 as well, and we're still waiting for one of them to break. Most of these guys run their AK's a lot harder than I do.  Bill T.

 I have no experience with their AK's, but as I posted their G3's are crap. It makes me leery of ANY Century product.
