I guess the moral of the story here is pretty clear:

Never target practice indoors if you have your feet propped up!

No, this is a different one. The guy you are talking about maintained a blog of his recovery. took more than a year before he got back to speed.

OH NO! You can't start that story and then stop mister! Not to be cruel, but seriously, that is too good not to tell. Not to make light of the pain, because Damn! But still, think of yourself like Plaxico, educating the rest of us on gun safety. I got some crap for combining a bottle of wine and a pellet rifle to dispatch a toad. It is your turn sir.

Lets just say I violated the rule of "keep your bugger hook off the bang switch!"

I was getting into my car to go to work and had the gun in a kydex holster in my back pocket. Well the holster hung up and when I went to pull it all out to place in the glove box, the gun came out. Now in retrospect I should have finished the pull but I instead pushed it back down and must have gotten my finger in there and bang.
I drove myself to the hospital and then x ray me, fractured heel bone, dressed the wound in my foot, and home I went for to spend a month on the couch on my butt to play catch up with last season of NCIS and whatever else is on my DVR.

I am still trying to get the local defective to release my pistol back to me. That in itself is a LONG story that should have a happy ending as my former states attorney buddy is helping me out by applying pressure on them. NRA is next on my list to call.
Seems my local PD likes to run a scam that involves them holding any and all firearms until I file a writ of repleven with a substantial filing fee $$$$ to ask for my property back.

Bottom line, dont give your gun to the LEO, tell them to get a warrant!

Ouch indeed! Sorry about the accident. BUT, I was right about it being educational for the rest of us. The ND could have happened to any Glock or Steyr owner. We know this, say it won't happen, and yet it does. The reminder is good enough for the post. However, the reminder NOT to give your gun to the cop with out exigent circumstances or a warant is something a  lot of us haven't thought of. Thanks for the input. And good luck getting your gun back.
