I just got my new Smith and Wesson M&P 15 this weekend and took it out to put some rounds down range. I have never had an AR platform carbine before so I could really use some insight into what is the easiest way to get a fairly accurate rifle mainly for defense. I know the sights are accurate now at about 25 ft. and that's about it. Any resources anyone could recommend?

There are many methods for zeroing a rifle. It depends on what you want to do with it.

I prefer to zero mine at 200 yards. This gives me a point of aim/point of impact from about 25 yards to 200 yards. Inside 25 yards, you'll have to remember your holdover.
