Ford vs. Toyota

Ford, for the third month in a row, has outsold Toyota in the US.

They did this without using any of our taxdollars and without Knee Pad Barry at the helm...

Well done....well done!

thats not shocking...  toyota quality has droped like a stone.  Where as ford is rated just behind honda...

for the last 2 model years they have had number 1 and number 2 least realiable new cars/trucks   with thier 1/2 ton and the cameray.

We've got six Fords parked out in the driveway, and the street, and we love them.  The last two Fords I've personally own, 2006 Ranger, and 2008 F150 STX, have been great.  Used to be a Mustang guy, but once you buy a truck that's all you can think about owning.  I'd buy another Mustang...after I get a new truck.  I never have or never will buy any thing other than a Ford as long as they're around.  And if you don't like Fords...then f#$@...I mean you should test drive one some time. ;D

I swore off Fords - at least new ones - when Billy Ford started throwing his money at greenie organizations trying to shut down farming and ranching, and at the homosexual community as well.

I may have to look at a gently used kinda new one when I get another job.

I've got two Fords myself currently.  Both paid for I might add.  I'm a bit biased as my daddy worked for General Motors for thirty years and ALWAYS drove a Ford...guess he knew something!

I don't need much, just something to get me from point A to B and back again, a small sedan and a small pickup work for me and if the plan goes well, I'll get another five years out of both of them.  Not because I HAVE too, but because it's quite a freeing feeling to able to save 1500 bucks a month and have no real debt to speak of.  I want to retire and the only way to do that is not buy things I don't really need.  I'll easily get 200K miles out of both so 2013 or 2014 I'll be in the market for my last vehicle.

I will however, buy the occasional toy!   ;D

my work truck is a 84 f 350 4x4... I've put almost 340k miles on it.  other then a tranny at 195k and a starter last year, Its been nothing but maintance... the a/c did stop working a couple years back, but thats minor details.  Other then that I've had zero probs with it, and trust me I've abused the hell out of it.  I put more abuse on a truck in 1 year then most trucks will ever see.  hell I tow 5-7500 lbs atleast 2 days a week, and have for years.

I have owned both, right now I've got an '08 Tundra and I love it. I've had 2 F-150's in the past and had nothing but problems with both of them. I still don't have anything against the vehicles. But when I found out that Ford donates $1000 from every new vehicle sale to a gay rights orginization I swore I'd never even give them a chance till that policy ended.

That - and ridiculous depreciation just driving off the lot - are the main reasons I don't buy new.
