The libs flew the flag upside down during the last eight years. I was seeing Prius' with upside down flag stickers on them.

Rather get a Gadsden Flag and fly that.

It IS a legitimate distress signal,( used on sailing ships to signal that assistance was needed)  

Not that we aren't in distress as a country but I couldn't do it.

How about another flag below the Stars & Stripes? IMHO, upside down is not quite the message to send. YET...

Several of my Navy vet buddies are circulating a Veterans protest email against closure of hundreds of Veterans Hospitals over the weekend by flying the colors inverted. 

Personally, I think it's going to lose it's affect because people are celebrating the long weekend more than our independence these days.

I would fly the flag at half staff but not inverted.

already flying my Gadsden flag! and in Peru no less!
will have it in the window (my window is very visible as you approach our peninsula) and the stars and stripes flying alongside the Peruvian flag (law, and respect). but the US flag will have the right hand side  ;D screw 'em if they can't take a joke.  :D

No joke, the US flag ALWYS, flies to the right and is never dipped to another nation.
