Nice idea. I just wonder how it holds zero.

Neat concept.
I've been racking my brain trying to figure how to mount a scope and light to mine and still be able to fold it up. I had almost decided to not fold it and just mount a regular picatinny rail on top.

Thanks for the post.

I'll post a link in the helpful hints thread also.

If I'm not mistaken the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 is chambered in only 9mm and .40 S&W.

How badly do they need optics? I have never shot one but just how far out there do they reach?

I don't know about the rifle, though as I mentioned its a cool concept. With the cartridges, I would say 75 yards is pushing it hard and 100 max, though if anyone has a ballistic graph I'd like to see it.

The guy in the vid mounted a red dot scope....... the purpose being quicker sight acquisition in close combat

Yep.
The factory sights are actually pretty good (Peep rear, fiber optic front), but only if you have plenty of time. They aren't made for fast work.
I've always thought the gun makes a good short-range defense weapon with the 15 round Glock mags. I carry one on our Yamaha Rhino a lot as a supplement to my G27.

Ahhh..... if only Glock would make a carbine to use those mags in.

Just a comment on the hinged red dot mount....Solid! My son and I saw the video and couldn't resist the challenge, so off to the hardware store to buy a commercial spring hinge and some screws. One hour later we were sighting in the red dot scope. We did this for the cool factor and faster target acquisition. It's a little tricky to do, but I'm glad I did it. Have fun and keep tinkering.
