Well, my 14 year old son has left to go home to NC. Story short & sweet, his mother and I divorced 11 years ago and we have joint custody. Legal terms that suck IMHO. But I see him often.
Anyway, he was here for almost a month, and has never shot his great grandfathers 1891 Mauser. He has shot other "smaller" stuff, but not the 7.65 x 54. He fondled it but never really "enjoyed" it.
We did a lot of things but the trip to the range really made me proud. I thought I would share a few pics to a fellow "kid" who (thanks to me), is starting to get it.

Shooting my Sig 556, which because it's black and has a scope, and big mag, is just down right awesome.

My Ruger 10/22 cause it's black with a scope and a big mag, recoil is non-existant, and he is going to outshoot me one day...

His Great Grandfather's Mauser for the first time, at 75 and 100 yds. fixed sights. He said it made his shoulder sore but asked for another stripper clip to keep shooting. (Chip off the old block IMHO).

Pic of the back of his head, and for this forum: a pic DOWNRANGE!

Of course since it was the 4th of July, had to get some pre-Brady "stuff"..
They grow up so fast, his voice has permanently changed now, he wears my shoes,

, will outshoot me at this rate. And is an NRA Eddie Eagle alumni and member,, thanks to me, not my ex,,...
Thanks for letting me share, of course, the cleaning of the guns after the range brought some whining, but he did it, than cut the grass, emptied the dishwasher, washed my truck, and ate me out of house and home....

Gives me hope. Also makes me Happy & Sad that I won't see him till fall...
Thanks for the chance to post. Here's a silly pic at the beach I grew up on, with a teenager who, of course, knows everything...
