I just got an email from the NRA-ILA Alerts that the Minnesota Attorney General signed the Amicus Brief "asking the U.S. Supreme Court to grant "certiorari" in the case of NRA v. Chicago and hold that the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments through the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment."

Attorney General Lori Swanson is a democrat and this development is very surprising.

A Minnesota democrat supporting a NRA position - hell must be freezing over!

Will wonders never cease?

Hey, it's a great development and we'll take any help that we can get.

Thanks for the update WatchMan.

We should all be enormously thankful for the NRA's  ILA. Not only do they provide timely updates, like the one above. They also provide calls to action and they have initiated countless law suits to protect our 2A rights. These examples are just the tip of the iceberg. I believe that the ILA is the most important wing of the NRA.

Every forum member should be a NRA member.

100%

I will add that even though joining is the most important thing to do it is important to think when you do.  Recruiters have a choice of compensation:

#1  Receive $10 for everyone they sign up;
#2  Pass on the $10 in the form of a discount to the new member (Jimmy Scouten and many businesses do this and say they are paying $10 for you);
#3  Let NRA keep the $10.

I do not take the $10 and I do not pass it on as a savings to the new person.  I let NRA have the full membership.  In my mind, if that $10 comes out of the NRA coffers there is no membership money left after the paperwork and magazine costs.

So, if you are signing up anywhere other than on the NRA website, ask about that $10.

Back on task:

Finally something I can be happy about up here for a change  ;D

Good for Minnesota. Hopefully, Senator Smalley, will not muck things up for the citizens up there.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

He messes things up just by being there...

He screwed the system and made a bigger joke of the process; he ruined more than one good man and family; he made our youth think playground potty mouth and vulgarity is ok in public speaking; and the worst of all, he is making the world think that "he" is Minnesotan  >:(

He is soooooooo out of touch with midwestern beliefs, values and work ethic that all we are going to do is become New York West.  What else can we expect ... this election and the sham recount was bought and paid for by New York fundraisers  >:(
