What were the comments he made on a internet forum????
They were probably very similar to the comments made by all of us you, every day. ;D

"The gun was licensed"?

We don't "license" firearms here.

At least he only lost a Glock.  It could have been a good gun he was wearing.

Exercising ones Constitutional right to bear arms and free speech is now a crime?  Literally, no crime was committed and this person is being taken to trial.  Sounds like 'doublethink' right out of Orwell.

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Hopefully, the people who are perpetrating this corruption won't be afforded a trial for their actual crimes.

Exercising his right at a BHO rally?

Usually there is screening, metal detectors, etc,... If there was none at said rally, than he knew he was going to be "pushing the envelope".

Everybody knows security is ratcheted up at a POTUS whatever, and yes within his right to carry openly, what did he expect?

The Secret Service or LEO's were just going to let him "walk around a POTUS rally?"

It takes big cohonas to do what he did, he probably knew what the outcome would be, and I commend his standing up for his right, however guns are not going to allowed at a POTUS anythng, unless carried by LEO"s.

Think about the 2nd Amend. March. Show up openly carrying?

D.C. and Most states do not allow carrying of anything on Fed. property. Maybe a pocket knife....

At least he was carrying a fine firearm. I just hope he did not say anything in reference to harming Obama. Big difference in free speech there cause that is where the Fed's draw the line. You cannot threaten the President, even in jest. That is the law. Anyone can bitch, gripe or complain, but all threats are taken seriously until proven otherwise.
If the guy was taken just due to someone being afraid of a weapon not being worn by a sworn peace officer, well shame on them. But if he made written or spoken violent statements towards Obama than he is screwed.

It was not a POTUS rally, It was CANDIDATE BO., He was carrying a Bible and wearing a pistol as part of his protest against BO's racist inflammatory remarks about "Gun and Bible clinging". There was no cause to arrest him or charge him with ANYTHING. According to the article his internet posts were in reference to organizing a protest, nothing wrong there either.

Tom, they are going to go at him with everything. If he did not apply for a permit to protest, they are going to hit him on that. If he made no direct threats, he should be fine and I hope the NRA and any others with some money are able to get involved to support his defense.

BHO was the "first" candidate to be extended Secret Service Protection that actually had to be signed by Pres. Bush. (ironic but true.) Late Winter/Spring 08.

They knew what "could happen" even at a candidate function. There will be an implied Federal usurpation of state law for a Pres. candidate, and states won't touch it.

Was he within his rights to carry? Yes..... At a POTUS candidate rally? .....We both know the answer....Those days are long gone...

He was compliant and cooperative, that should help if he has a clean record.  I hope one day he can get his pistol back, but his house has already been "bugged" and he is on the "watch list" for sure...

He will need two layers of tin foil for his hat... :P
