Hizb ut-Tahrir, (HT) the pro-jihadist organization meeting this weekend in suburban Chicago, has been waging a below-the-radar campaign to recruit Americans for decades. While HT (the "Party of Liberation") says it is committed to advancing radical Islam by nonviolent means, it advocates violence (see here, here and here) and its prominent alumni include terrorists like Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and Abu Musab Zarqawi along with suicide bombers.

The open nature of this weekend's Khalifa (Caliphate) Conference in Chicago under the Hizb ut-Tahrir banner indicates that the group has decided to enhance its recruiting efforts among U.S. Muslims. Until late last year (when it publicly called on American Muslims to boycott the November election) HT had operated in secret or through front organizations here.

The trial of the Islamic "Charity" group a few years ago was held in Houston because their Headquarters are in Texas
The "Council for American Islamic Relations is headquartered in Fl.
There are large Islamic communities in Raleigh, Durham and Charlotte NC.
Also in Tulsa and OK City has such a large Islamic community that the bombing was first thought to have been carried out by them since it came shortly after a similar conference there.
Even Lewiston Me. has a large Somali population.

You are wrong, Cair, and the other apologist groups are the above ground attack, getting pork taken off school menus, getting Muslim workers prayer breaks, (Do Christians or Jews or Hindus get them ? ) Protesting because Muslim women  (who are not supposed to drive in the first place ) have to take off their Burkhas for Drivers license photo, influencing politicians and generally desensitizing us to THEIR ways instead of assimilating to OUR ways. Mean while they are funneling money to the extremist groups, Are you aware that Highly placed people in the CAIR organization are members of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, the very groups who are trying to destroy us ? Suicide bombers struck the JW Marriott hotel and close-by Ritz-Carlton, two luxury hotels popular with businessmen and diplomats, in Jakarta's main business district during breakfast.

Police on Friday said eight people died, revising down an earlier count of nine, and over 60 were injured. On Saturday it seemed the toll had been raised again to nine, including two suicide bombers.

The blasts are a severe blow for Southeast Asia's biggest economy and for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who was re-elected earlier this month in a landslide victory on the back of restoring peace and strong growth to a country with the world's largest Muslim population.

Just because they are not openly violent, does not make them less dangerous, in fact they may be MORE dangerous, because their weapons are our own touchy feely PC laws.
I don't understand why you are so excited by THIS conference these same groups have been holding these "conferences" which are know to actually be places to exchange information and network for 20 years, this isn't even the first one in Chicago.
