Time For My "Coming Out"
« on: July 18, 2009, 12:25:25 PM »
Alright, this is my big announcement!!:
First some Intro Music: 30 seconds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1zealrKvjE&feature=related

YES! It's True! I have bought a "G" Gun!

After several years of fighting my transformation to the "Dark Side", someone must have slipped me a Mickey, with the Kool-Aid in it. So, after hoping to be snatched back into the light, I asked some fellow Rangers for their thoughts earlier this week.
Uh, there was no going back to the light.. :P, they couldn't save me....
So I did some consulting with this guy, who showed me the way:

I was so excited, I caught Darth Vader off guard. But he had some very helpful info.

It is a very slightly used Model 21 .45ACP (just because), bought from a co-worker who needed the money bad.

Box, 400rds of target ammo, 5 mags, 13 rounds. for $500..

There was some concern of how my M+P would react: :-\

They hit it right off, and are getting along very nicely. :-*

It is hardly even broken in, and clean as a whistle. except for my handprints and fondle marks.
Need to order the Grip Plug to close that cavern behind the Mag, and go run it.

So there you have it, I need counseling and rehab at the Broward County Mental Health Facility Target Range, and have to really, really be nice to the wife for a while.

Any tips, tweaks, personal exp. advice are all welcome and encouraged.

My name is Tom, and I'm a Glockaholic, in constant recovery.... 8)

I'm blaming all of you here at DRTV for this, especially ericire and hawkfish, who over the last year have found a way to penetrate my tin-foil hat...

Congratulations and welcome to the Dark Side.

Forever gone from the light you are.

Looking forward to the range report. Resistance will be futile......... after you've shot it. (I know mixed sci-fi quotations)

How do you type an evil and sinister laugh? ;D

BTW, sweet Glock!!!

A new gun has the same appeal even if it is a black plastic gangsta side shooter.  ;D
Nice pics, (except for that Darth Vader one, SHEESH, Can't a bad guy get a LITTLE privacy ? ) and a nice deal. Enjoy

Glad you mentioned the grip plug. So stupid they don't have it covered over already but you can keep your "G" flavored kool-aid powder mix in there. ;D

Just ordered a Ghost Inc. 3.5 Rocket Kit and now I guess will be finding the grip plug.

Good choice on the .45acp. Nice deal you got there too.

Sweet deal. Of course you can sell it and make a great profit and buy (a real gun) that special gun you have always wanted.

The Glock is like a smart, ugly woman who loves sex, and is really good at it. You may be embarrassed to show her off to your friends at first, but if you don't get over it you're a damn fool. That pistol, particularly in .45 (my preferred caliber despite owning 9mm) will be your go to gun. Maintaince? What's that? Cleaning? Once a year whether it needs it or not. Four inch groups with either hand at 15 yards, rapid fire, every time. Welcome to the Sith.
FQ13 and again Bwah haha!
PS DO NOT SHOOT LEAD OR RELOADS. The manual is serious about that. The chamber is slightly over sized (just like an AK's) to make it idiot proof, so brass wil overexpand if you try to reload brass fired from a Glock (other used brass is apparently ok). Likewise their propietary rifling will foul if you use lead. Fire only jacketed ammo (which is most of whats available, so no hardship).

Sorry FQ13, the .45 is different, it has conventional rifling, not the polygonal style, my M21 has digested at least 8k of 185 swc lead bullets. No problem reloading the spent brass either, my .45 acp's run from smith revolvers, 1911's with factory and match barrels, and my glock, but they all get fed the same diet. Lead, with a few JHP  thrown in for good measure. Unless it is a bullseye match, they all get fed mixed brass too. For a real tournament like a regional or state championship, I will use all same lot, brass.

I know the manual says NO RELOADS, if the loads are safe for anything else, they are safe for a glock, now as far as lead, I do load it for my other glocks, but clean much more often, it builds up pretty fast in the polygonal rifling. Especially .40 However I don't load lead for the 10mm, as only gets hunting ( powerful ) loads.
