anyone into the 'Ruger Lcr 38sp

Had a lady friend that said she wanted one and we went to the local gun range and rented it for her, after 5 shots she complained it hurt her hands and didn't want anything more to do with it. She was fine shooting the Bersa 380 and the CZ 9mm but to much recoil in the ruger. Tried to tell her but proof was when she tried to shoot the light revolver.

Mine recoils less than the Taurus Titanium snubbies I have.  No snubbie in 38 is going to be fun to shoot with standard 38 loads in it, less for standard target loads and much less for full power defensive rounds.   It's a not surprising that the diminutive 380 round was not an issue or the heavier CZ in 9mm.

38 Cowboy loads for shooting for practice are fine and I bet she would find that cowboy loads are not so intimidating in the LCR.  I practice with cowboy loads and carry full power Speer Gold Dots.

I shot a friends LCR and I thought recoil with +p .38's was less than my sp101 with full house .357's. The sp101 is much heavier but I think the grip is better on the LCR and I think like polymer auto pistols the polymer absorbs some of the recoil. I found the LCR more pleasant to shoot than my buddy's Kel Tec 9mm.

Look, no sub compact anything is going to be fun on the range. That's not what they are designed for. You shoot two boxes to get used to it and then practice once a month (or more if you can afford it). Otherwise use something else. Personally, I prefer pistols to revolvers in small sizes, as at least to me, the recoil seems less. Either way, if she wants a range toy, talk her into a full size, or a .22. That way you get two guns to play with.
