Sight Mounts for AR
« on: October 18, 2007, 06:34:22 PM »
Must seem really dumb to not be able to find a mount for sights on an AR, but I qualify.  In the past year I saw two different mounts for putting a red dot on an AR, and now I can't find either one.

HELP!!!

Both put the red dot at a 45 degree from the standard top rail.  My first choice is a slim design that attaches to the rail under the scope, putting the red dot right beside the scope; and my second choice attached to the standard A2 hand guard.  My hope is to be able to just give the rifle an eighth of a twist to the side to switch from iron or scope to red dot.

I know, I know, just buy another upper with a six rail hand guard.  Maybe in the future, but I play too many games, and buy for all of them, to spend on that until I decide how far into the three gun and/or military shooting I'm going to go.

I'm sure someone here can help.

Thanks
Mike

Check out www.ar15.com
There is a SAR mount for 1', 30MM and 34MM scope tubes. Then you can put any standard mount red dot on it.

I spent a little time looking and didn't find it (way too much fun stuff over there), and I do think it was AR15.com that I these in the past.  It's just like having ten toy catalogs and not remembering which one had the cowboys and indians.

Go to the DPMS Panther Arms website, and look at the tri rail, upper, left and right that attaches to your flat top reciever, and includes an A2 sight. You find them for about 80-90 bucks.

Thanks M25!

I think the A-15 Tri-Mount is just what I'm looking for.
