Get on the mend............I might need a holster some day.  ;)  ;D

A lot of people think GB surgery is no big deal but there are a ton of complications that can happen. We had one butcher sugeon that cut the biliary duct too short and had it snap back into the liver. The pt had to have a transplant surgeon go back in to fix the problem.

Don't be afraid to ask questions and/or for second opinions.

Frisco:

Was wondering what happened to you.  I've missed reading your keen insight and rapier wit.

Take care of yourself, dude!!

And I agree that it might be time to talk to a lawyer, but not a GOOD one, since the only good lawyer is a dead lawyer, you might want to try and find one that is still alive.  ;D

Anyway, take care of yourself and you'll be in my prayers.

Yeah, it has been a red white and true blue motherhumper of a month.  I am FEELING better unless I move too much and the wound starts to slosh around.

My family Doc, who is AWESOME, got involved and got me to a new surgeon and wound care specialist who is on top of this.  My insurance pays for a nurse to come in daily and re-do my dressings, and clean it out.  Nasty business that!

My wife did get me a get-well-soon present though...she bought me an AR lower and gathered up all the parts from my parts bis and boxes for me to assemble another evil black rifle project while I am mending.  I am putting together an M4-gery this time with all the tacticool crap I usually avoid, just for a change of pace.

It could have been done by now, but it it tough to sit for more than ten or fifteen minutes at a time.  The Doc says I will be down for another week or so before they will let me do more than that.

For now, I am watching all of my John Wayne and Tom Selleck dvd's....I already did Lonesome Dove, Return To Lonesome Dove, Dead Man's Walk, and Commanche Moon, Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid, and The Wild Bunch.  Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia made my wife cringe..... ;D
God bless, and sincere thanks to all our fine people in uniform.  You pay for our freedom, and for that we owe you all we can give you.  Thank you.

Glad your home Frisco, keep on the regimen, and get back to the leather soon.

Take Care.

Frisco, nasty scare, just back myself, but not near as bad, Take your temp every hour, at home that is the only indication you will get, if it elevates, go back to the hospital, staph, is nasty and way too common today. Don't dismiss it, your temperature. I'm glad you have a wound care specialist, that helps, but infection can go fast, if the specialist only comes every 24 hrs, that could be too long, especially for an organ repair, it can happen on the inside where it is not visible.

For entertainment, try Thief, Old school, and Heat new school.

Get better Bro.
