And, if she ever gets out of jail in Israel, Cynthia McKenny, (the US Ambassador to outer space) will probably be one of the next US Reps........from California.    Georgia elected her once and she was just to over-the-edge for liberals here.   But in CA she's probably right of center.

Will work for ammo

We've allowed our reps to vote themselves very enviable benefits.  A letter in the local paper was pitching for immediate termination  of all special privileges for congresscritters.  Immediate termination of retirement with refund ONLY of what they had contributed, and termination of health insurance.   (go find your own.)

The writer was figuring that by the next election, many would not run for re-election.

I believe most of them have become absorbed in their own self-importance.    I don't know how to bring them down a notch other than voting them out of office.

“That only revs up my people,” she told POLITICO.

I didn't know dope smoking, pacifist, anti-gun, commune loving, homosexual, rainbow coalition, socialist hippies could get "revved" up about anything except entitlement checks, and Doritos....

That "broad" is a disgrace...
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

It did work in 1994. I'm not making an ideological point here, just stating fact. What gave the GOP control of Congress wasn't just anti-Clinton backlash, it was campaign finance reform. Prior to 1994, you could keep your warchest, post 1994, it had to be returned to donors or donated to charitable and political causes. Shockingly, many long term incumbents with hundreds of thousands in the bank decided to retire that year helping the GOP takeover. (In fairness it would have gone down the same way in reverse). If you were to say that if you run for reelection in 2012 you lose retirment benefits, you would be amazed at the number of vacancies.
