Interesting Video: Ameican Arab festival
« on: July 24, 2009, 10:19:31 AM »
A friend passed this on to me in an email. It is an Arab festival in Dearborn, Michigan.
What do you think?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEPod-hxD7g

This is the text that was with the video link:

This is a video of David Wood and Nabeel Qureshi asking questions at Arabfest, Dearborn. The date is June 21st, 2009. There was a booth at the festival which had a banner titled "Islam: Got Questions? Get Answers." From their table, we picked up a pamphlet claiming that Islam promotes peace. We noticed that it was full of poor logic and errors, so we decided to make a video refuting it. We went to the booth that gave us the pamphlet to give them the opportunity to defend their claims. Security, however, stepped in and forced us to turn off our camera.

We left the booth, received advice from police, and found out that the actions of the security guards were illegal. We went back to the booth to record a potential answer again. Realizing that the Muslims present had no answer, we left.

When we came outside, we were asked some questions by two young men, who had been sent by security to entrap us. While we responded to them, festival security started assaulting us, as you will see in this video. The conclusion of this video is a mob of festival security attacking our cameras, pushing us back, kicking our legs, and lying to the police.

We ask you, is it a coincidence that the city with the highest percentage of Muslims in the United States is the city where Christianity is not allowed to be represented (let alone preached) on a public sidewalk? Is it coincidence that in this city, people will say "No way!" when we say "This is the United States of America"?

Is this what will happen when Islam takes over the United States?

I think those two guys went there to instigate and provoke. All I can say, mission accomplished!
There always going to be somebody to overstep their authority (one of the security guys). There is no justification to keep pushing your agenda, when you've been asked to leave the first time, just because you have a right.
We all despise the paparazzi's behavior, don't we? Tell me what makes those two different?

The main reason I posted the video is because I still don't really know what to think about it.....it can be interpreted in several ways.

Mosbear: That's kinda the way I saw it too.....to an extent....maybe it could go either way....both sides were pushy and it didn't have to go down like that. No need to force a confrontation, because then your own point gets lost in the shuffle.
Maybe they should have set their own tent up and handed out info.

Kinda like if we went to an Anti-gun rally with cameras and picked a confrontation.....just for the sake of the camera so we could put it on youtube.

In the long run, it does not help your own cause if you are perceived as "baiting", even if you were sincere in the effort to find information.

I think we got one very skewed version of what happened.  Editing is a powerful thing.  I understand they were trying to make a point, but baiting people is not the way to do it.

The video, by itself, isn't much.  Just some Christians trying to make a point about the hypocrisy of "tolerance," and mostly just trying to cause a confrontation.  However, in light of the mass riots in France, the death threats over a cartoon, murdering a director of a movie, and a lot of other stuff, it paints a scary picture.

There is a second video called the "Arab Fest 2009: The Unedited Footage." It clearly demonstrates that the makers of this video were confrontational and provocative. The people at the booth were attempting to be helpful, prior to the arrival of Security. The message from the Muslims at the booth was the condemnation of terrorism. Many Muslims believe that the radical factions of their religion are totally wrong.

The "Security" personnel were also confrontational and they clearly overstepped their authority.

Both parties must accept their roles in this situation. Both parties were at fault.

If you go somewhere attempting to be provocative and attempting to videotape a confrontation, then you should expect to accomplish your goal.

I was very concerned by the attitue of the Security personnel. I am personally concerned about the expansion of Islam in our country. Great Britain has allowed Sharia Law to adjudicate disagreements in that country. They, as a free and tolerant society, have allowed Muslim extremists a free hand to espouse their beliefs in Great Britain. The resultant changes in British society have been harmful and dangerous.

We, as a free society, should learn from the mistakes of our friends the Brits and realize that openness, tolerance and political correctness should not supercede wisdom and common sense.
“What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that the people preserve the spirit of resistance?”

Thomas Jefferson, 1787

Uh, That is a BIG NEGATIVE Ghost Rider...

Attempts of that nature will be considered in the same category as zombies. At 52 virgins each, they will run out of virgins quick.... ::)

Of course I am advocating complete and very time consuming negotiations, with members of the United Nations.... in order to keep the peace. Some type of mutual arrangement can be made

Remember,.......Wolverines!!!!! ;)

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I think it goes one way in this particular situation, they went there to stir the trouble. Watch carefully, the security guy in red tells them to go to the designated area if they want to preach. But no, they want to do what they were set to do right there and then. Not that they don't have a right, they simply don't show any respect to others.
Lets dig a little bit deeper. Both are very devoted Christians, good for them. Lets look at Nabeel Qureshi, sounds Muslim isn't he? Well indeed he was http://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/Qureshi/testimony.htm. From my experience "converts" had always have something to proof, almost like they have some sort of inferiority complex. They are the most radicalized elements in the society. I have to acknowledge that sometimes they are the catalysts of the change, but it takes more wisdom then the firebrand preaching to bring about the change without causing the bloody revolution.

Virgins just love Marines, don't they Tom?! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
