Alright, I think that politics and choosing sides, whether it be republican, democrat, libertarian, etc., should be put aside. I think that those who are proud of our great Nation and have served this great Nation, need to look deep inside themselves as to the direction Our Country is headed. People are drawing lines in the sand as to political party affiliation and those that are not bothered are making a mockery of what Our Countries values and standards are. We need to combine forces on some level to be able to discuss Our Country's direction without prejudice. This makes me sick. We are butting heads like rams and the fox, coyote and wolf are killing the herd cause we are too focused on mundane ideas.
We need to focus on America or the United States of America. There has been so much lost in the last 20 years to where Our Country in no longer respected or desired in the World. We are the Greatest Nation and we are allowing countries like China and Russia to make decisions for NATO. What the hell is going on???
We are watching how to survive if some sort of apocolypse is to come. I thought we, the United States, were in charge? This has all got to stop and we need to focus on Our Country. We need to clease ourselves from within. Then we need to enforce our borders and keep the crap out.

That isn't news to me. Doesn't every teacher believe in teaching kids to save/worship the earth, recycle, etc, etc. People in groups end to conform. It is obvious when you hear Geography and history professors say most people thought the earth was flat. Well, except anyone who stood on a plain or sailed a mile offshore. Science is pretty much totally resistant to new explanations. Look at people on forums. They feel they must conform and everyone else must too. Scary when new or different ideas show up. Heck, In some forums I've even been threatened.  I thought you were someone who fell into the, "Theres a powerful human urge to belong inside the
group, to think like the majority, to lick the bosses shoes, and to
win the groups approval by trashing dissenters."
Now you post how that behavior is explained.
I assume this is some trick to lead me to claim, what? That I am above typical human behavior? Sorry, I refuse to dress the part, teach crap I don't do (like recycling), I ride a big bike, I have guns and shoot them often, and for all this individualism I also conform in the million little ways we all do daily... Oh, I ride a Roadstar, not a hog like every other mid life crisis balding/greying guy. Of course that is ofset by my Vette conv, pretty much the poster vehickle (sic).
Not many here bucking the old majority opinion or expressing support for alternative views, huh?
Don't concern yourselves. I'll happily stay to the gun forums and leave the majority to comfort themselves without any strong dissent.
I'm getting bored with the total lack of an argument here (I waited in vain for the post showing how Gate's behavior, while boorish, violated the peace provision) . I only came back this time to get the site of a grip maker and got sucked in. I'll be at the range, enjoying my latest toy.  8)
This thread is the first researched and fact based ANYTHING I've seen. Thanks for that, anyway.

Sounds like a paranoid delusion to me, I posted something that might be of interest to the only to teachers on here and, you go off on a persecution complex.
You know they have drugs and treatment programs for those sort of problems.
You might want to consider talking to a professional before it impacts any other aspects of your life.
Look at what happened with that Cho guy at Virginia Tech, because HE didn't get the help he needed.

Ping I hear you, but the US was never in charge, that is one problem with NATO, all countries great or small get 1 vote, so Sri Lanka, gets the same as us, or russia or china, You think our individual states would get a vote, but not so, that is why Nato is very unfair and not representative of the populace of the world as a whole. Kinda like Rhode Island, having as much say as Texas or California towards a president.

I am sorry we have to draw lines, but the way our system works, it is best that way for now, when I started voting, there were democrats that believed most of what I believe, and still here in Texas, there are still a few, but we cannot count on any of them, dem or rep, and unfortunately the libertarians can't win, DC is an institution, and the people once there become institutionalized, used to being treated with favor, and waited on, hand and foot, large budgets, regardless of their own salary, great healthcare and retirement, even if they only serve 1 term. No wonder they want to stay forever. My personal congressman is Sam Johnson, Hanoi Hilton POW, old fella now, but does what I want, every time. I even have his home phone, don't use it though. My senators, are less than favorable, B- maybe, would like some new ones, hopefully with 2 sets of big balls. We need some statesman, men or women with conviction who tell the truth and keep it, but I don't see any on the horizon, people who speak like Zell Miller, Obama speaks like but is not like that. Is any body else tired of representatives, talking to us like our parents instead of employees??

I say close the borders 1st, then do everything else, but the states are going to be fought by the fed in that endeavor.
I have long been waiting for a 3rd or 4th party opportunity, the only way I can see it, is like our state elections, if the candidate does not get 50+% of the vote there is a run off between the 2 highest percentage candidates. That like a lot of things will take an act of congress.

Don't worry Ping, when the world needs us, they will ask nicely like they always do, and once we help them, with exceptions, turn their backs on us and call us names, it is not easy being #1. When was the last time any other country stepped up without us to help someone else????

While I agree with you about NATO the fact that we paid most of the bills for NATO AND subsidized the defense budgets of the other members, on top of having the Nuke big stick that Europe hid under, gave us quite a bit of influence in how other countries used their one vote

We're going to HAVE no choice but to draw a line with traditional Republicans and Blue dog Democrats on one side, and So called "Moderate Republicans with the socialist Democrats on the other.
Then we need to beat our representatives like you would any uppity servant to remind them just WHO pays the bills and calls the shots.

It appears we are fast approaching the point (with activists groups funded by the government) where voting will be a total sham.  It already is in places like New Orleans, Chicago...you name one.

The selfish politicians will be scrambling for taxes here shortly to shore up the social vote-buying programs as well....they've made generations dependent and the beans must keep coming.
