If that's the case, bummed probably won't be the most appropriate word to describe my reaction.  G.I. Joe "A real American Hero"  It's part of the title and is even a lyric in the theme song.  I'm sure this is an attempt to increase ticket sales in other countries, but they are messing with something that was a huge part of my youth.  It would be like remaking "The Andy Griffith Show" with Andy a crackhead detective in NY... and Barney being African American or Latino.   ;D  What happened to being proud to be American?

Wow, a simple thread about a new TV show - starring R. Lee Ermy, I know, but still . . . - and it is already up to 3 pages.   ;D

Of course, if you take away the HUGE FREAKIN' THREAD DRIFT about GI Joe, it's really only a page plus. Sigh.  :'(

Is there ANY thread outside of "Left the Range" that doesn't drift like a canoe in the surf ?  ;D

Don't worry Path, when you go on to your reward we'll be sure to talk about roasted Iguana, pedicures by Haz, the latest Glock clips, country music and the Tomboggan Superior Rope corps' latest Dow Jones price. ;D

For some reason, THC ran an early showing of one episode last Sunday night, which I stayed up and watched (10PM CDT). It was quite good. It was about artillery.

Ermy showed the differences in the 3 types (cannon, howitzer and mortar), and then fired a whole slew of historical pieces starting with smoothbores in various sizes, a rifled 22-pound Parrot gun, a bronze mortar, modern pieces, ending with the NLOS artillery piece that the US Army will be fielding in 2012. Watching the different historical pieces against 4 water filled barrels lined up in front of each other was very education in demonstrating the effects of the shot. As was the triple canister they fired at massed ranks of - what else? - watermelons.

I think it's going to be a fun series.  It is something I kinda expected from Shooting Gallery.
