60 Minutes - They're reporting what we already know.
« on: July 25, 2009, 04:18:29 PM »
Sixty Minutes tomorrow night will be airing an episode on our favorite past time.  See below.

(CBS)  Sunday, July 26, 2009
GUN RUSH - Americans are snapping up guns and ammunition at an increasingly higher rate despite the economic downturn. But as Lesley Stahl reports, the economic downturn, as well as the election of Barack Obama, may be the reason for the run on guns. Shachar Bar-On is the producer.

60 Minutes??????????

Can't believe that show still gets air time!  I expect it to be replete with inaccuracies.

If anyone watches it, I expect a complete report.  Let's bring old Dan back and get his unbiased opinion as well!

Upon further investigation, this appears to be a repeat from the April 12th broadcast. Perhaps it'll have some updated info but not sure.

This is a link to the episode from April.  http://www.60-minutes.info/2009/april-122009-gun

I missed it the first time around. I'll watch it tonight.

Keep your enemies closer.

Just watching the opening moments of the online broadcast (it's actually the second installment after one about a company developing a "bionic style" arm for amputees) Leslie Stahl states something to the effect of "There's been a string of mass shootings lately.....and the sales of guns are up".   There's the slant right out of the gate.  Sheesh.....way to play your cards lady.

Saw the original airing, the gun show (spokesman) is actually quite articulate and correct in defending Leslie Stahl's predictable slant during the interview, but they should have gotten Ted Nugent. ::)

For those that didn't catch it, I'd watch it... If you find yourself yelling at the TV, it's OK, I did...

60 Mins over here had a segment on Families that hunt  tonight
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Wow! That type of presentation would never be shown on a major broadcast network here, Phil! It's more like what one sees on the Outdoor Channel here. I'm going to finish watching the rest of it, which I'm sure I will enjoy.....Thanks for sharing the link!  :)
