Just for the record, I don't mind Glocks at all.  It's just that I have a design background and I think its safe to say that Glocks be ugly and Sig makes a pretty gun.

twyacht, how do you like the FN9?  I currently don't have a 9mm and am vacillating between the FN9 and the Beretta Storm PX4.  Waddya think?

I just recently went to the 9MM as well. These were my choices:

Sig P-226 SCT

Glock 17

Glock 19

Since then I've added the Mini Glock 26 to the list. The same performance in the Mini package.  Bill T.

Co-worker has the PX4, DA trigger pull covers two counties, and is UGLY also.BUT,, it is a Beretta, it works as designed, and is accurate. Kinda big for carry, if that's a consideration....
SA trigger pull is very nice and more along the lines of a quality pistol, which it is. (but still kinda ugly)... It works, and Beretta makes a fine pistol, like their other lines, they put a priority on the "next, latest greatest thing"

Glocks are "blocky" and yes, are ugly, so ugly, that there is an attractiveness to them. The G21 has a railroad tie upper, and almost as big, but will go bang 99.9% of the time, and is just accurate.

My FN9, is a combo of the sleekness,,, (is that a word?) of a Beretta, with the simple design and dependability of a "G" pistol.

The DA pull covers only ONE county, but when carried with one in the chamber, provides a level of comfort IMHO. If I have to draw and fire in SD, a long trigger pull will be the least of my worries,....It's really not much,..

Follow up shots, or manually cocked for SA, is like the Colt Peacemaker revolvers,: (grasp hammer pull back and "click") it's ready to go is rock solid.

The De-cocker is totally simplistic, with a design background, you will appreciate it's "keep it simple stupid" function, Just drop the hammer without going BANG. No "issues", need for recalls, etc,..PLUS it is cheaper than the Beretta, unless something has changed....

The FN9 was a great purchase for me, even though I was one of the last to get on the 9mm train. The ammo has made the cartridge better than the average bear, and the FN9, IMHO, fills the platform to utilize it.

My humble .02 cents....

Sounds like you have a "vacillating" itch for a new pistol?????

P.S. The Sig's are awesome, and without question, a fine pistol.  If I had the extra "bling"... so many pistols, so little time... ;)

That works in just about anything.

I am leaning toward the FN9 for most of the reasons you listed.  The Beretta is intriguing because of the way the pistol works and it is supposed to be rather accurate.  I haven't seen both pistols in the same shop so prices have been weird.  If I am 'memberin' correctly, the Storm was a bit cheaper where I saw it.

I paid $459 for my FN9,....now it's $479 to over $500.... ???

It is a user friendly no nonsense 9mm.

The Beretta is what it is,.. it works, its reliable, its accurate, (it's kinda still ugly too) but either way, is right up there.

Although for a review:

The FN9 is #2, behind the CZ-75, and it beat the "ugly one"

The only thing I don't care for in the Beretta M-9 / 92-F series of 9 MM pistols is the size. They are just way too large for a 15 shot 9 MM. Compare one to a Glock 19 and the size difference is very apparent. Simply too much iron for what it deliverers.   Bill T.

I sold my Beretta 96 this spring and bought a Glock md. 22 . I'm with you, the Beretta was way to bulky. I sure do like this new Glock. It go's good along with my Glock 19 and yes the md. 26 is next on my list. ;D

I spoke to a dealer at our last gun show and he said that he is dropping the Beretta Storm PX4. He said that he has had too many complaints and returns.

People have complained about the trigger and they just don't the feel of the gun in their hands.
