A toddler is in a serious condition after being shot in the head when a man opened fire during a wedding reception in the US state of Indiana.Police say the 18-month-old child, Yuridia Sosa, is in a critical condition in an Indianapolis hospital after undergoing surgery.The child's mother, Mariela Rodriguez, and another woman were shot in the legs but are expected to recover.USA Today reports three brothers, who were not invited to the wedding, got into a fight with guests at the reception hall in the Indianapolis community of Lawrence.Witnesses said the men appeared to be looking for a fight.At least two shots were fired as about 100 panicked wedding guests fled the building and ran into the surrounding park.According to police officers, one of the alleged offenders, 21-year-old Francisco Ponce, ran across a parking lot and tossed a gun under the car.Ponce has since been arrested on the preliminary charge of attempted murder.Lawrence police detective Gary Woodruff said the whole event was just chaos."People were running in just every direction," he said."At one point they (the offenders) stood up, turned a table over and started a scuffle with some of the other reception attendees.""And then Francisco introduces a handgun into the fight."Ponce is being held without bond, according to court records.It has been reported his Ponce's brother Isaias, 28, was charged with public intoxication, and a third brother, Jose, 23, was arrested on preliminary charges of battery, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
