New "House Gun"
« on: August 03, 2009, 05:37:31 PM »
I just picked this up today at Academy in Houston.

Taurus PT92. About $200 less than the Beretta, and I like the decocker/safety on the frame instead of the slide.

Bought a stainless steel version for my brother in here in Austin.  Its a great gun, except for the goofy rail on the front.  After shooting 8 round Sig P220's for months, it was weird to go to the range with the 18 round 92, 'Its still got bullets?'  Go buy some new grips and you should be good to go.  Enjoy.

Very nice find, CJ.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

Great choice CJS3. Picked up a Taurus 92 AFS, stainless with rail, for my wife a couple of years ago. Came with 4 magazines, two 15 and two 17. Eats everything that I feed it though the manual states to use regular 9 mm ball ammo. I have fired Hornady TAP rounds through it with no problems whatsoever. It also has a key to lock it out for a additional safety on the pistol grip. I carried Beretta 92F's in the Air Force but the Taurus is dead on accurate out of the box.
