Here is a pic of my custom Dissy in Montana Camo.. :)

The paint was Krylon, and other than cleaning it really good I just painted it.  When it really starts to get scraped off, I just shoot some more on it.  I only care how it works, not how it looks.

Agreed. But I have to say I agree with Bidah's thinking, performance counts for far more than image  ;D

It will work in most of the state.  It is a little too brown for up in the NW corner.  It works pretty good with sagebrush.

I have seen some beautiful paint jobs.  I also do not normally see those jobs out "working" either.  The working rifles that I see are painted with Krylon mostly, some with Duracoat or similar, and do not look fancy or have a particular pattern.  Just spray it and go.  I do keep enough on hand to paint all my rifles should the need arise.  If you are going to keep it, use it, and it is a working rifle, then paint it to suit your needs.

I have a used AK that bubba got a hold of and painted OD along with some other work.  I need to try some "custom camo" work on it.  I just hope I have more talent than bubba did.

Blotches, the idea is to break up the out line, you can always wrap strips of sheet around the handguards and stock in the winter.
