White House appears ready to drop 'public option'

By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 1 min ago
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's administration signaled on Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run health insurance as part of his ambitious health care proposal.

Facing mounting opposition to the overhaul, administration officials left open the chance for a compromise with Republicans that would include health insurance cooperatives. Such a concession is likely to enrage his liberal supporters but could deliver Obama a much-needed win on a top domestic priority opposed by GOP lawmakers.

I think I'm getting excited that Americans, not mobs, nazi's, organized thugs, or bussed in protestors, finally gave an ass chewing to their Congressional Reps, and Senators, of both parties.

The Dems were the ones bussing in the union thugs, and rent a mob, with email instructions from Chief Pitbull Axelrod and Darth Rahmbo.

And it is appearing a total healthcare take over by the gov't will be put on hold for now.
It's not over by any means but we sent a message.

I'd like to see BHO, Rahm, Pelosi, Sebellius, Reid, Frank, and others push the health care option a bit further.  Another 3 or 4 weeks of ticked off people at Town Hall meetings confronted by union thugs and being excluded by lack of invitation would go a long way in the 2010 elections.  The smug responses by the lying thief politicians did not resonate so well, did it?

I'd expect to see him say" F you I won," and ram it through, and then have it be even worse than the people think it will be.

It ain't over 'till it's over. I don't trust anything that comes out of BHOs mouth. I'm not ready to believe that he has given up until he is out of office.

They never give up, if this is stopped, there will be other more subtle legislation pushed through.

It's not over.  It's only over "for now".
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

That's Rahmbo's job. That's all he's good for.  ;D

I spent almost two hours on the phone with my Congressman tonight. (Representative Louis Gohmert (Republican) Texas.)

Rep. Gohmert said that the health insurance cooperatives were just smoke and mirrors. He stated that the co-ops would initially be funded by the Federal government and that, just like in the original plan, the private insurance carriers would not be able to compete. The result would be a government run single payor system......Universal Socialist Healthcare. >:(

Totally agree Kid. This is just a common Lib tactic to get the sheeple to go home, and STFU. It buys them time for a new smoke and mirrors campaign.

They can get a "better" bill in committee, and than insert almost anything they want in the middle of the night, (they have a track record of this), before the final vote, and there you go.

The State Run Media, will of course follow the admin.

All of this has to be done by, the 2010 elections. I also can see some form of "gun" law while they have the votes. Ammotax, fees, something,....

Eric Holder never met a restrictive gun law he didn't like, ask his former boss Janet Reno.... >:(
