Seems we have a whack job stalking my R&G club

You must be a special kind of stupid to threaten a bunch of guys armed like NATO...

Big notice up about a guy 'threatening the members' from just off the property. Notice says the police know, but can't catch him and that we should take his threats seriously - and call the police who can't get there in time to catch him.  They also recommend taking his picture w/ your cell phone. Guess the police all have those 50x zoom high res jobs.   ::)

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Fatman, take it serious, and watch you and those around you's 6. Not cool at all. I hate to say it, but take a break from the range.

what do you mean by "threatening"

now im not one to run away from a fight, cos if i were in ur position i wouldnt let him bother my day, if e gave me any touble he find out what 6 years of Special forces dose to a man.  ;D

Be very mindful of areas outside the range operations. If the guy is serious, he'll likely sit a few hundred yards off range and lob rounds in to 'disrupt your area'....and speaking from having experienced dodging projectiles that are raining into a specific area (drunks off-site shooting across a pond into our range area), ducking and running for cover ain't fun.

Watch your six........not to the point of being overly paranoid about it (because that may be his main game, psychological)...
but still, watch your six.

so this guy is taking shots at you outside your range. thats a new one for me

just don't go there then, if ur life really is in danger than its not worth going to the range.

i thought it was just some guy standing outside bitching at people looking for a fight.

There is a live in caretaker here, the guy apparently went after his gf, and is now threatening members from the woods around the range. He supposedly yells death threats and then disappears using a bunch of trails in the area.

A threat w/o the ability to carry it out is not actionable other than calling the police about the situation. No one is sure if this guy has a firearm or not. I already take the precaution of taking my bolt-open, mag in AR down range with me (I have it, the asshat can't come take it while I'm down range) for target changes and carrying my duty pistol in the open.  As long as I'm the only one on the range, I can do what I want. Oh, on the bright side, I get to practice with my vest on.

I really can't stop using the range - I'm allowed to practice shooting on the move, lateral movement while drawing, etc. All things I really need to hone up on. What really bothers me is I deal with people like this acting stupidly all day long at work, and I'd like a break from them from time to time.
